So not a foregone conclusion that LSU runs all over Alabama.

CAR YDS AVG TD LONG

2014

2013
31 43 1.4 1 13

2012
49 139 2.8 1 19

Mulligan

My god, we were more pitiful than I thought in 2013. I guess we only kept it close for so long because of Mett, OBJ and Landry.

Those stats are a bit surprising. Y'all have a different cat back their this year, though.

Um yes.

LSU hasn't had the type of offense like they do right now.

#1 rushing team in the SEC and #2 total offense in the SEC..

Our fullback changed the complexion of that Bama game early in 2013.

LSU's offense is the most efficient under Cameron yet.

Even more so than the 2013 offense. This offense is absolutely legit and it all starts up front.

LSU is also rated the #21 team passing efficiency in the entire NCAA..

Pretty remarkable

Hill and Magee both averaged over 3 ypc in 2013, but Mett had like -30 yards rushing due to all the late sacks and that kind of threw the numbers off. We really didn't run that much in 2013.

And what exactly do these stats have to do with these players and this game ?

Absolutely nothing..

If we want to dig into the past.. we can go as recent as the beginning of this year when Alabama played Ohio St and gave up around 230 to Elliot.. the last real threat of a running team they have faced..

Btw yes I know Georgia, but felt they were over-rated this year because of their schedule.. and now you see they are no real rushing threat. especially without Gur.. ehh Chubb* LOL

LSU's line is just incredible. We are also among one of the least sacked teams.. and I believe LSU leads in rushing yard avg before being touched by a defender. Regardless who is running, LSU is gaining crazy amount of yards on the ground.

Probably has a lot to do with our opponent Saturday and their ability to put the Anaconda squeeze on our backs.

LSU has to get to the edge

those numbers include sacks (i only checked 2013 to be honest)

thats not an accurate depiction of how well we run the ball.

I am saying, now without Gurley Georgia's offense is truly shite.

They couldn't even score a TD the following week and they just scored 3 points this past game..

People try to say LSU is all Fournette early on.. but it's the line that deserves the credit

Yes that is correct. Can LSU's offensive line pass protect against Bama? We know how good they are with the run blocking

We had some big runs in 2012, though. Obviously our averages haven't been good, but we've had some decent success in the running game at times against Alabama.

And if those numbers included sacks, then that heavily skews 2013, because Mett got sacked a zillion times it felt like. I bet you are yards per carry doubles if you take his sack yardage out.

Florida had the best pass rush in the SEC and only had 1 or 2 hurries and zero sacks. This O line has only given up 2 sacks in 4 conference games. Bama will get some pass rush, but I'm not expecting more than 2 sacks and a couple hurries. Harris has played well under pressure and has a better pocket presence than the beginning of the year.
