Yes it is. A 16 team playoff system makes every regular season meaningful all the way to the end. Just imagine how LSU fans gave up early as "nothing to play for" excuse. Also, look at NFL. Look at the meaningless game vs Arkansas. Just imagine how meaningful tomorrow's game vs Arkansas would be in a 16 team playoff system. A strong performance means LSU is in the playoff but a weak performance could knockout LSU from the playoff.
