Yeah we definitely want to be on the Kentucky/Alabama side of that bracket. Maybe Ole Miss takes care of UF.
I wonder if UK can hold onto a 2/3 spot or if they will fall to the 4 spot. They still have Missouri, @ Arkansas and Florida left to play which will all be tough games for them without Noel.

SEC tournament could be really fun this year. Yes it won't have the cache of several really good teams going at it, but I don't think it would be shocking to see any one of about 8 teams win it. UF will be the clear favorite, but IMO they aren't a dominant team like UK was last year where realistically everyone knew they would take home the trophy. It was just a matter of if they really wanted to. Plus, UF will likely be the ONLY team going into the tournament who knows they will be playing in the big dance. Do they go all out to win it, or do they pull back and save something for later? Everyone else (even UK) will be fighting for what may be thier only chance to secure a spot in the field of 68.

Vegas giving the Tigers slightly more respect this time. Opening lines have LSU favored by 11-1/2.

At this point I didn't think it was necessary. I'll email Kent Lowe and see if he can find out for me.
Thanks, no rush, I was just curious since we've had a lot of tied spots so far.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. I want Alabama to have a double bye and not be on Florida's side.

This basketball is a very strange sport. This team has been almost impossible to predict. You never know what you are going to get. Consistency is what CJJ has been after but it is very elusive.
Who will show up against Miss State? The LSU team of the first half or the LSU team of the second half?
Will Carmouche play a brilliant floor game with steals and assists or will he be the player of the last game who looked completely out of control and made turnover after turnover?
Will Hickey be our billiant point guard who plays great defense and fires in three pointers while performing theivery against the opposing team? Or will he be the foul plagued, not very efective Hickey who can't get a shot off?
Will JOB continue his string of double doubles? Will he still be able to dominate when there is a player taller than 6'5" on him? How many times will he get the ball six feet or more away from the basket and be able to dribble his way in and score? How many times will he post up low and we actually get the ball to him?
Does Stringer continue to be the most consistent player on the team? Will he pop in those open threes or try and push it too hard when the play isn't there?
Does our free throw shooting continue to be much improved or do we go back to the early season?
Time will tell. We should beat Miss State but that doesn't mean we will. That ball takes too many strange hops and our players make too many bad decisions for there ever to be certainty. But I will go out on a limb and say Tigers by 6.

I think LSU hammers State. They're pretty garbage.

Tom, everything you said... you summed up our team and their performances to a T.
In some ways they are an enigma. We've yet to see them when every player had their "A" game going.
It's a roller-coaster ride for their loyal fans!
We win tomorrow, or they'll break my heart.
I leave for England on Monday for 2 weeks - I want to go there on a positive note.
It'll be difficult for me to follow them that closely whilst I'm away, which will drive me crazy!
Win by 15pts!

I'm the LSU "tweeter" of the game. Haha. Don't know what it entails yet, but its gonna be fun.

exactly. Hell, just go look at MY own game thread posts from the 1st half of SC. I was embarrassed as hell at our performance. 9 turnovers, couldn't throw it in the ocean. against the worst team in the worst conference in the nation. we need consistency! I hope next year we can get that with our brilliant recruiting class

The thing is outside of the Missouri game LSU hasn't had any good shooting performances in the SEC. So it's not a consistency issue.. because they're very consistent at shooting poorly.
I think the 2nd half against South Carolina was them breaking out of a long funk more than anything. They figured out what they need to do on offense.
My only concern is that the poor shooting didn't really fix itself. JoB was tearing it up but the rest of the team only shot about 30%.

I believe we should win this game but I'm worried about playing Tennessee. That should be a good game. I think 65-57 win this afternoon.

I don't completely agree with this. I think the problem lies with everyone not playing bringing their "A-game" at the same time. Johnny goes off, but Carmouche and Hickey have a bad game.
Against Bama, JOB and Coleman had good games, but Stringer and Carmouche struggled. Against Vandy, Hickey and Carmouche had good games while Coleman was non-existant (and Stringer didn't shoot well either). I don't think we are an awful shooting team, but can't put it all together in one game.
I know our overall % disagrees with me (~42%), but maybe I'm just an optimist.
