I've always wondered why Randy Livingston is not a member of the LSU coaching staff.

Honestly if Randy wants to stay on the NBA coaching path he should stay in Idaho. SI was just giving him props in the Antoine Walker article this week.

ok, i guess you didn't see the quote where the guy was claiming temple told him the only reason johnson hasn't been fired is because he's black. had he been white, he'd be fired.

Trent isn't still here cause he's black, that's just stupid and Temple knows it

Big picture thinking here:

Alleva and TJ know what Temple is about. They want to build a program without his kind of influence. I get it and it's admirable.

If it works, great. If not, well it could actually make the program worse. Now I don't disagree with wanting to do it the right way, just don't know if it's possible in this day and age

and you replied to him asking how brady lasted 10 years. i answered your question. you shouldn't have brought up brady, because as bad as brady was he never had 3 straight years as bad as these past 3. he'd do just enough to save his job.

What is Temple about?
What is "his kind of influence?"

this kid gets a schooly, this one doesn't....It is interesting that Temple brought all "his" guys around but couldn't get a Monroe or such to even sniff the place

Don't get me wrong, I've been all over TJ all year

but Temple isn't the fricking AD, shouldn't be the AD and IMO should have ZERO influence on who coaches LSU basketball

Why is this interesting? The BR guys grew up around Collis and Monroe didn't.

Temple managed to get his kid, his kid's best friend who lived with him, and tyrus thomas (also on their AAU team) to LSU. Tyrus' only other visit was to Va Tech. People act like he was integral in getting so many guys here but Tasmin was on Butch Pierre and D-Mitch had nothing to do with Temple either. His influence, while it helped, is certainly over exaggerated here.

explain john brady for 10 YEARS. If he said that, he is stupid. i say stupid because he knows better.

Since 2000, Brady never had a string of three straight years without making the NCAA Tournament.

And Brady never had a three-year run as bad as this one since he really got things rolling in 2000 either.

yes i should have, brady is white and trent is black. This is the relevance to temples remarks. The white guy didn't get fired either.

If it's based on excuses, then trent has his with the apr situation he inherited.

they both have the same amount of s.e.c. championships as it stands now. The white coach took 8 years to get his. if it's based on race, which temple/the poster is claiming (not me) then the white coach should have been fired before his 8th season. yet the black guy, who has one in his first season should be fired in four? hypocrisy and stupidity of such statements.

i'm not on here saying trent is the savior of the lsu program. i'm saying such comments as he's keeping his job because he's black is stupid. Especially when a white coach got a lot more rope when you consider his off the court problems to go with his on the court lack of performance.

How come no one brings up Johnson's attrition like they used to with Brady?

You're counting walkons as attrition? You are better than that.

I agree but it doesn't get talked about because almost all sucked.

Pop is the only real walk-on on the list but he was a good player. I guess I get it since he got a scholly at SLU... Kinsley was on scholarship after his first or second season.

Exactly, and how often do you think you are going to get a bonanza of local talent like the 2006 team had? Who are the local kids since Taz that every school was recruiting? Marcus Thorton had to go to junior college, and there hasn't been anyone close to his level since.

This + 1000.

Also, Trent is not going to do Anything under the table or push the outer edge of the envelope. Temple has been rumored to have his hand out in other business dealings (BREC) and could be why the relationship was strained from day one. This rift is not a new revelation by any means.
