Chico Garcia was in a boating accident. The boat he was on swerved to avoid a boat and hit a dock. He was airlifted to Our Lady of the Lake. He is in ICU. He has 2 dislocated vertebrae in his neck. Right now he is paralyzed from the chest down.
Damn! That's awful.

Prayers sent.

FWIW: At 72 hours can you get a better idea of what type of injury the patient has. Before that the spinal shock makes most evaluations unreliable. So basically you have to wait and see or surgery if he needs it.
Hope he gets better.

According to The Advocate, a child was airlifted out. Not the person the poster originally thought.

quote:

Five people were injured, one seriously, in a boat accident on the Diversion Canal near the Tiki Hut, St. Amant Fire Chief James Leblanc said Sunday. The accident happened about 7 p.m. Saturday when a blue-and-white Bayliner carrying two adults and three children crashed into a private pier, Leblanc said in a news release. The seriously injured child was airlifted to a hospital in Baton Rouge, Leblanc said. The other four people were taken by Acadian Ambulance ground units. Along with the St. Amant Fire Department Fire and Rescue Team, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Water Rescue, the Maurepas Fire Department and the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries assisted. Wildlife and Fisheries is continuing the investigation, Leblanc’s email says.

Report is wrong, Chico was airlifted. Children(as of last night) were not severely hurt. One had a broken wrist and the other one was going into surgery for a busted up knee. That's all I know.

Mom and daughter were taken to BRG and the dad, son, and chico were taken to OLOTL

I requested the admin because it was childish and totally out of line. There are plenty of fight threads for you to pollute.
