How did the SEC schedule work back in those days, pre the '92 expansion?
Since there were no divisions back then, there were more permanent opponents for each team, and Florida was one for us. Not counting Arky and A&M (who weren't in the SEC at the time), I believe Auburn is the only current West team who wasn't a permanent opponent back then, so we played them on a rotation. Looking at the series history, there's one point where we didn't play Auburn for 27 years (1942-1969), so it used to be far less structured than that.

Another interesting SEC stat or trend is LSU has been to the national championship game in '03, '07, and '11.
Math is hard.

Both are tough venues regardless of the quality of opponent (see Aub 2012) and weird shite happens at both places.

I can't decide which game is going to be tougher.
I look at Florida's offense and think that with their lack of firepower, we should easily be able to control the game.
Auburn excels when they come into a season with little fanfare, and seems to suck when expectations are large.
With that said, good execution or not, the ground and pound game plan doesn't lend itself to many blowouts these days without a defense that can get some takeaways.

2011/10/08 LSU 41 - Florida 11 W

Isn't this what Alabama has done to LSU ?

LSU 27 UF 20
LSU 31 AU 17
I would flip these final scores:
LSU 31 UF 17 (Still can't stop Fournette and breaking in a new QB)
LSU 27 AU 20 (They've got a dual threat QB again)

That being true, Les Miles in the only LSU coach to win against Alabama, Auburn and Florida in the same season. And he's done it twice...

Before 2014 Miss State hadn't beaten LSU since the 90's.
Nobody knows what if anything either team has at QB. Depending on what source you read, their respective transfers are either abominable or the next Cam Newton. The truth is probably somewhere in between.
Auburn got better as the season progressed last year while Florida tanked after their QB was suspended. Hopefully, neither QB will pan out, or at least not start to click before wr play them.

Math is hard, I have early onset dementia, or I'm still upset that A&M wasn't Miles' last game with Wisconsin being Fisher's first.

You can also argue this is the first time LSU is this much better than the other two (on paper at least).
2014: Auburn was the best of the 3
2012: This would be the year where you'd argue whether LSU was the best or not...but tough to knock UF's record.
2010: Auburn won natty
2008: UF won natty
2006: UF won natty
2004: Auburn was undefeated
You go before that and you start to get into the kickass Florida teams and shitty LSU teams.

Just play both at night. We always seem to beat Florida at night in the Swamp, and also Auburn on the plains. The Swamp's more dangerous for a CBS kickoff.

This is crazy to me. I had to go back to verify this. Wow.

Hell YES! There is 1st time for everything..... We'll either have a woman President or a non-politician President for the 1st time in 2016. It's going to be an extra special football season for LSU football. Any other outlook and you're already defeated. NEXT! Bring on Wisky!
