Experience maybe. Talent, not so much.
They have more pure talent then any qb in the SEC, with the exception of Mallett,Brantley, and maybe Newton

Talent isn't the issue. Neither of the guys look like they have been coached for quite some time.
I'm guessing this year's improvement came courtesy of Billy G.

Lee was also the direct reason we were in a deep hole in Auburn 08 and Troy.
This is where you need to be fair.
I clearly remember JJ entering the Troy game, and proceeding to stink up the place, going 1 for 6 for a whopping 5 yds (in 3 series). JLee reentered the game and went all kamikaze (16 for 21; 180 yds). Against the same team, with the same players.
JLee has NEVER gone in for a struggling JJ. Never!

But JL started that game, and played the worst half of football I have ever seen from an LSU QB.
Fortunately both appear to have turned the corner.

I don't trust Crowton anymore, but I am leaning towards he was seeing in practice what we saw against La Tech.
I don't blame Lee for that, though. I think Crowton is a shitty QB coach. Every QB he has coached at LSU has regressed under his tutelage.

Both are battle tested.
Both could be elsewhere.
They chose LSU.
They wanted LSU.
They put on the Purple and Gold uniform on Saturday Nights in Tiger Stadium.
They play until their hearts, and sometimes flesh, are black and blue.
I support them for playing for LSU.
Sorry, but none of that rhetoric means they are "good." Sure they'll be better as time goes on, as with most QBs. But I won't cling to the mindless optimism that something magical happened between april and august.

LSU has two really good quarterbacks. . .
They still are not far along like two third year QBs should be at this level,
JJ's third year starts next Saturday night.....

We are probably more fortunate at that position than any team in the country, with regards to experience.
Is that you, Norman Vincent Peale?

Why not? Would it kill you?
I bet you won't just so you can say, "I told you so" like some kind of school marm in the event that they do poorly. Of course if they do great, it won't hurt so bad admitting you're wrong because, after all, it would mean the Tigers had a good season.
Why don't you grow a pair of testicles and take a chance and be optimistic - if everyone would, it could only HELP their confidence.
People like you make me wonder why you follow sports anyway. Do you LIKE being miserable?

I hope that these two prove all of us wrong...because I do not see us throwing the ball with much consistency. As a matter of fact, I am not sure that we will have to wait for injusy to see JL this year.

The big question is whether JJ's past problems are because of inexperience rather than lack of ability. We will see shortly. No one wants it to be the former more than me. I would also love to see JL prove the same. If they truly are good QB's then we are lucky to have two.

That was a mean bump. I'm sure he thought this had gone away.

Saying that right now, with what we've seen... you are full of shite. However, I hope their play this season will allow us to say that in the future.

Some of the statements in here make me wanna cry.

Reading this thread makes me think I am in "Alice in Wonderland." JJ has improved so much this year over last that I'd gladly take his performance last year right now. Who knows with JL. He hasn't played enough for us to know, and besides, he (or JJ) is strapped with the worst play calling I've ever seen at LSU (even worse than the Curley Hallman days).

We have 3 kids in JJ, JL, and BB who are busting their asses. Les needs to give JL a shot, but I and many other Tiger fans and Dads would like to knock the freaking shite of you blog cowerds and vicious punks who are slamming these kids like trash. STFU.
