QB play last year was exceptional, when compared to OL play.

Troy Aikman would have looked like Aaron Brooks (with the Raiders), behind LSU's line.

Crutch for not releasing the ball after 5 seconds or taking 18 step drops. How about not stepping up in the pocket. If you want to say the O-Line didn't play-up to its potential you can say that. The last time I looked there was NO reason why teams put 8 men in the box other than the QB couldn't get rid of the ball even on 3 step drops and he couldn't throw it down field b/c he was waiting for the receivers to get open raather than anticipating them getting open. That is about timing, cohesion and trust.

You mean the Ga Tech game where the defense gave up only 3 pts, the Arkansas game where their kicker missed a FG in OT, and the Auburn game where the defense didnt give up a point 'til after halftime?? Those games??

Andrew hatch could have QBd victories in those games.

Sorry, but I agree with his original assertion.

where he lead us into field goal position during the final minutes of regulation time

he lead us to a blowout victory(his best game last season) when we needed it really bad, coming off the florida game

Didn't say the were Elway type performances but the post i responded to said he wasn't a difference in winning a game

so he never made a difference in us winning a game?

thanks it's over then, he said a difference in us winning. I gave examples of games where he was, not how big the plays where compared to anyone, what are you arguing at this point?

Im simply saying that JJ hasnt been the sole diff in winnning any game he has started.
That it what you initially said.
You said he was the diff in uga, gatech, au and ark.

No, because I clearly said
quote:

the difference between winning and losing

Any QB could have beaten Ga Tech, who only scored 3 points
Any QB could have called Crowton, and said please don't make me throw it. Lets give it to Charles instead. After Trindon had returned the kickoff 40 yards.
Any QB could have beaten Auburn who hadn't scored by halftime
Any QB could have been standing on the sideline when Arkansas missed the FG in OT

I cannot think of one game where JJ had a Troy, Auburn, or S. Car. type victory; where the passing game stepped in to win it.

Hardly anyone is the sole difference in winning a team sport like football. Even in the examples the guy gave for Lee (Auburn, Troy, S. Car) he wasn't the sole difference why we won, but he was a major difference just like Jefferson in the games I mentioned.

can we at least agree with the op that LSU is in an enviable position with two good battle tested QB's. It's been a long time tha we've started a season with this kind of experience and talent at the QB position.

but Jefferson did, the defense held tight against Florida too but he didn't get it done, he did in those games

or go to Crowton and telling him that he sees that running the ball against bulldogs defense would be more effective than throwing at that time

Any QB could have been standing on the sideline when Arkansas missed the FG in OT

how did even we get into overtime against them?

We put up so many points in the 1st half that they had to abandon the running game. JJ opened up a whole can that game.

Any of them could, but not many would.

Like Jamarcus Russell?

Auburn had not scored by the half there, either.

quote:

Any QB could have been standing on the sideline when Arkansas missed the FG in OT
But JJ got us to that overtime.

God you fricks are embarrassing.

You guys need to be fair, here.

Lee was also the direct reason we were in a deep hole in Auburn 08 and Troy.

Those games are a push in my mind. Lee played well to get the victory, but he was also the very reason that late game heroics were necessary. I equate both of those with JJ's 09 Arky game.
