We are still losing a home game it is just pushed to next year, that will cost a ton of money for the school and city...also the ticket sales revenue for this game is only the south ala price level which is also a lot of cash

How so? Look, we were going to have to play Florida in one way or another...this year. WE get to keep a home game and it is a good game. Maybe you are unhappy because you will not have to leave after halftime.

Ideally, I would have liked to continue and have Florida forfeit, but that ain't happening.

right but now we get that money this year, which is better for the city after the floods, we get it in 5 weeks instead of 13 months.

also, side note...

WE CAN STILL WIN THE SEC AND MAKE THE PLAYOFF NOW

its a dream, but its a dream thats still alive

Right. And we un-fricked it up the best we could. Try living in reality for one split second.

These are LSU fans, living in an unreasonable fantasy land is their God given right. And if you don't agree with them, then you are a cuck!!!!!!! Reality has nuthin' to do with it!

The win is that we didnt get royally screwed without any consideration. I feel that this isnt a perfect solution but it is the best outcome with the cards that have been dealt.

yea, it's about as good as could be expected. that fool commissioner screwed the pooch. the idiot should be fired. if the SEC renews his next contract they are idiots too. there needs to be rules/guidance on how to handle this situation in the future so the next a-hole (Foley) won't turn a terrible weather event into a selfish advantage. I think there should be mandantory postponements as a first resort and cancellations only if safety continues to be paramount.

If Florida had gotten what they wanted this game would have never been played

It wont all show in this year's accounting books, but overall I bet LSU lose at least net $-3 Mil.

Essentially all the money from the would be South Alabama game. Sure we get it back this year with the home game, but loses it next yr playing at FL.

This would be better than the deal we got for LSU. Maybe not for the fans, but for the University, not playing at all this year would be a better option.

Alrighty then. So, a guaranteed forfeit for the SEC championship for the year isnt better than a chance??

Yep. All of this could have been announced on the 4th. No drama. No media blackeye.

We lost south Alabama game and have 5 sec road games next year. Not a win.

No doubt next year is going to be a tough SEC road schedule with having to travel to both Tenn & now UF, but without help from other SEC teams that it sounded like there weren't any other SEC teams that were willing to help out. We were either going to get screwed somewhat next year or this year playing in Gainesville on the 19th so it was kind of pick your poison.

The only thing I can take away that could be a positive would be, if Etling is the starting QB for the rest of this season and going into next season we will have a very mature and experienced QB at the reins next year. Granted it isn't much but rather look at the glass half full then half empty.

You're looking at this from a football standpoint, which, by the way, no one knew about until today apparently. Otherwise, Foley would've found a way to play last weekend. From a financial standpoint, this is a bad deal for LSU. And from a football standpoint, LSU isn't in a good position to make it to the SECCG this year. That didn't change with this deal.
