Is there any chance it becomes a night game? From what I understand CBS gets first right to SEC games. They also only get one night game. They usually go with LSU Alabama for the night game. Have a feeling it’s going to be 2:30 game unfortunately.

There are no other compelling games that week.

Missouri @ (1) Alabama
(2) Georgia @ (5) LSU
Tennessee @ (8) Auburn
(22) Florida @ Vanderbilt
Ole Miss @ Arkansas
Texas A&M @ S Carolina

I wonder if the announcement will be delayed until next week to see how this weekend's games pan out. They do that sometimes.

I know they can wait til the week of the game. I think they usually announce sometime after lunch today. I don't see why they won't announce today because even if we both lost it would still be the best game next week

A buddy of mine said that every SEC team can block one 2:30 CBS game a year. I can't find that online anywhere so was seeing if anyone had any information on that. If it is true, and you can block one CBS 2:30 game a year, there's no reason that Alleva shouldn't do everything in his power to get this moved to a night kickoff, or at least 6 p.m. on ESPN.

1) Is it possible for CBS to choose 2 primetime night games?

2) any chance CBS chooses GA LSU as the primetime night game instead of LSU Bama this year?

Technically yes. See 2011. They cut a deal with ESPN/SEC I believe. I think that's how we got the 2012 USC game at night the following year.

Besides LSU-Bama, what other game did CBS have in primetime in 2011? I know they had to cut a deal with ESPN to get the "game of the century" in primetime but didn't remember a 2nd primetime game on CBS that year.

If they're going to wait, waiting the week of the MSU game makes more sense. I believe they can only wait once a year, and the week of 10/20 is the most spotty week. You are probably looking at Alabama vs 2-4 UT or potentially #2 LSU vs 3-3 at worst MSU. Could be 4-2 MSU too.
