Growing up in Southern LA, my parents always hated LSU and their fans. We went to Tulane games with my family and, even in a sparsely populated Superdome with my grandfather listening to the Tulane game on his headset, the crowd enthusiastically cheered and stayed the entire game.

Fast-forward to my time at LSU (2002-2008), I loved LSU games. I loved LSU fans. I loved my fellow students. It was easy. We won. A lot.

Now, we have one loss. A bad one. A year after we got rid of a tired coach whose heart was no longer in the program and hired a guy who would literally bleed purple and gold. This is his dream job. We have arguably the two best coordinators in CFB. And, every poster/"fan" wants to run the guys out of town.

True fans have opinions but also support the team. This is a young team and will go through ups and downs. But, if you only support them on the victories, what kind of person are you? I will tell you: a typical LSU fan.

Gather round and support our boys. Build them up when they are down.

If our players were half as fragile as our idiotic fan base we would lose every single game by 50.

Some of the people here really make my stomach turn.

Yuck. Why would anyone voluntarily do that?

I stand by the team and the coaches while also recognizing that this should never be a reason to hire a head coach of a top program

At LSU, you are expected to win. Pressure is part of the job.

It's simply anger that has largely been repressed since the hiring of O. I think our fan base was divided into a small group that thought O was a good hire, and large group that knew it was a bad hire, but remained optimistic, and a small group that have vocally opposed the hire since day one. What you have now is that "I told you so" group (that's me) and the larger formally optimistic group. The CheeriOs are laying a bit lower these days.

Point is, it was a stupid hire and all this emotion is a product of that more then it is the loss. And, no, we don't need to just be quiet. It needs to be heard. Alleva needs to feel the heat.

Agreed.. the majority of LSU fans are spoiled, whiny, little girls who cry when they lose and want every coach gone after their 1st loss..a sugar bowl appearance, in any year, wouldn't be good enough for most on here..

Not only this but a lot of them are in their 50s-60s. I'd expect this from 20 somethings but you have grown arse OLD as dirt men here crying like whinging counts. It's pathetic.

It really is. USC was his "dream job" a couple years ago. Im sure Ole Miss was his dream job before that.
