JJ should and will start but considering the way he takes hits, injuries could cause him to miss games.Other than 2006, the backup QB at LSU has had to step in for a game or two in recent yrs.

If JJ needs to sit out a game or two to get healthy, who would start those games? I don't know if Shepard (haven't seen him) or Hatch (have seen him) can play that role but Lee with more experience and coaching can at the very least 'manage' the LSU offense.

Coaches need to keep Lee. I don't think we can lose him.

Thank you..I have been screaming this all day long.

Lee would be the best backup in the SEC and I would have confidence in him to come off the bench if JJ struggles or gets injured.

again.. the question is not should he stay at lsu for lsu's sake....

its should he transfer for HIS sake.. and the answer is obviously yes.

a younger player has taken his job.. time to move on to somewhere he can compete and gain the starting job

As I said in the previous thread, the job is by no means won. There is still spring practice...we aren't coaches here...

I'm sure J Lee appreciates the concern that you have for him.

is RS lives up to the hype we have two guys capable of starting (RS and JJ) so hed be the third string...if he really needs to hatch can be that guy to come in and run the offense (hes very mistake free)

Yeah..I mean the defense played like gangbusters against Georgia.

You can't blame any lost on a single person. You win as a team, you lose as a team.

Of course, since you want to take shots at J Lee, you will probably forget the bomb he threw against Bama that C. Mitchell completely dropped.

For his sake, he should take this as a challenge and get better. I am almost certain he will get his shot again if his play predicates it.

For his sake, I hope he doesn't make it a habit of running away from challenges - he'll be facing them all his lfe.

It's too early to say which way the dice will roll. If Lee works harder and stays in the mix, good things will happen. It's a guarantee.

It's amazing how some fans don't think JJ could possibly struggle at QB.

You ever watch this kid throw a pass...it leaves a lot to be desired.

But whoever plays QB at LSU, I will support..and if that is RS, then I will be happy and support him.

When Rohan Davey first played at LSU, he couldn't hit the side of a barn. We wondered why LSU ever recruited a QB who was obviously not fit enough to play for us.

Yeah, it takes time and experience.

It's also amazing how fans don't understand the concept of insurance in case something happens to JJ.

What if Shepard can't throw as a freshman? Who then?

Bingo

Winning has skewed people on this board to say some ridiculous things because they think LSU SHOULD win EVERY GAME.

When LSU doesn't, they need a scapegoat. That scapegoat this year has been primarily J Lee.

Does that one drop equal those four picks?

No..but my point illustrates that JL bounced back in the middle part of that game and put us in a decent position.

It is tough to blame everything on one person.

I mean it's not like D Byrd didn't have like three chances to catch the first pick.

No, but training harder and getting better will cut down on those. I don't think there's any disagreement that he needs to improve but I also think LSU can't lose him.

He deserves the coaches' investment as a back-up for now.

Running away from Oklahoma didn't hold back Troy Aikman.
I hope Lee does what he thinks is best for his career. Flynn waited his turn and we benefited. Nall left and he benefited.
Of course the young ranters can't remember that far back.

Lee will need to improve his game wether he stays or leaves. The 'pick six' problem and immobility problems he has will hurt him wherever he goes.

Scaling down the level of competition (Div II) is not the answer - working up to the current level of competition is.

Staying at LSU, working with better coaches and practicing against the LSU defense is a better option for him. Just my opinion.

And LSU is also a winner in this scenario.

no whats amazing is the fact that hatch seems non existant

if JJ does happen to suck it up or get injured
AAANNNDDD RS "cant throw" as a freshman
i dont see why hatch cant come in... he may not have as good of an arm as lee or be as fast as JJ/RS but i think he is very intelligent and his decision making is pretty good as well...JLee has potential but wont be able to show it at LSU...id like him to stay but its better for him to transfer (id say its almost worth it to transfer to a D1 school and sit out his sophmore year then get 2 years as a starter)
