Let's try this again this year.

If Bama loses to LSU, then it's conceivable they may lose 2 to 3 more this season including their bowl game. I think that would be a huge dissapointment considering they are NC contendors now.

Their program is in a fragile state right now trying to build up and a gut wrenching loss could turn out to be a u-turn for the season and the program.

It's happened before.

yes. both teams futures rely on this saturday.

win and your still a top team.

lose and you'll be set back ten years.

I disagree.
If they lose to LSU the only other game they will lose is to UF in the SEC Champ game.
I think they will feel good, disappointed, but good. Heck they lost to ULM last year!!!
11-2 and in the Sugar is more than acceptable.

Shouldn't you be off worrying about whether or not your anemic offense can generate enough points to beat the Wildcats?

Yeah, but even if we beat them they're still gonna be just as good or probably better next year. I don't think this one loss would destroy their whole football program.

Hardly. I don't know of any non mouth-breathing UA fans who expected much this season. Most of us look at this year as an unexpected bonus. We're still a couple of years away, but we're just happy to be in the hunt at this point.

But if Bama wins, it won't impact LSU at all right?

It's funny how the Ohio guys are still around talking smack. I have no problem with them still coming back and talking but talking smack on our own board is freaking laughable. Why don't u go back to your own board to talk you know how dumb you look telling LSU fans on our own board to STFU. All we have to say is scoreboard now you STFU.

Agree. Not many predicted Bama for this year. All the pre-season pubs hyped LSU and Aubie from the West and UGA and UF from the east.

I would think BAMA is thrilled to be in it and are licking their chops for next year, IF they can get a QB.

Maybe. I think the bigger issue is that Saban has to win the SEC and get into the national championship game or a BCS bowl in the next year or two. If he hasn't achieved any of these goals by year four of his contract, there'll be a fair amount of discontent in Gumpland.

I remember this thread from last year, and things went well after that, so, it won't hurt to stoke the coals, imo...

I don't think some folks know where you're coming from, though!

If we beat them this year we might own them the next two years for this fact alone.

This is stupid. Bama has exceeded expectations this season, and it will not hurt their program in any way. Saban is still going to recruit like crazy and make them better. Its not going to hurt us either, because everyone expected this to be a 2-3 loss season after RP was booted. Also, we have an amazing recruiting class coming in, so we shouldnt see any drop off at all. Look at it this way. Alabama is just taking the place of Auburn. Nothing has changed at all. The west will be between alabama and LSU from now on. Stop freaking out. Remember how bad LSU was 10 years ago, and enjoy how great it is now.

tough to make the Sugar after an SEC CG loss.

see for instance, LSU v. Miami, Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl

see also, LSU v. ND, AllState Sugar Bowl (rather than Arky)

LOL.. We're #1 due to teams in front of us losing. Yes, we would be disappointed with a loss, but no reasonable fan expected to be in this position, at this point in Saban's tenure.. It's absurd to think that a loss right now will destroy the program..
