I wasn't saying you said dotson couldn't shoot. Thunderbird said that. And I'm just saying my opinion of derenbecker. And I have seen him play and there are a lot of schools that weren't to high on him. He doesn't have great athleticism. Not a great shooter. Does nothing great. Maybe ok at some things. But can't create his own shot. Just not sold on him. Hope he does good though. I think turner will play more than him. And no its not racist. I'm white.

he actually does a lot of things well enough which is why some schools were high on him. good dribbler, decent shooter, good passer, i always liked his ability to get his teammates involved. he is skilled, some have compared him to hummel from purdue.

I think he did some things ok in high school. I just don't like how he projects. Like I said. I think he will be an ok 4 year player. Just I don't expect much more. Just my opinion and I hope he proves doubters wrong

Thing about basketball is you dont have to be extremely talented to win ball games...its all about fundementals and coaching. Losing Bo was a bummer but we really are prolly better without him shotting 7-10 contested 3's every game. With alot of heart and some good coaching i can see a better team than last year. Storm Warren is good, Harris has improved and Dotson showed potential...Derenbecker is going to be good idk who thinks hes not going to be. Hes extremely basketball smart, and with just that alone, can make you a really good player...look at Kyle Singler

No. I have said several times that I don't like Trent's recruiting so far. As a coach and bench coach he is good for LSU. I think he has been at LSU long enough to recruit better players.

Anything to distract me from the fact that Jordan Jefferson will be starting at QB against Florida. The thought of it keeps me up at night.

I think the subtraction of Bo Spencer is a huge addition.

14.5 points a game is quite a subtraction. his loss will hurt. hopefully Stringer is all that and Derenbecker can fast track to this level.

the thing I don't understand is why couldn't LSU have suspended him for semester to try to get his grades. there had to be more to it than what's been reported. nebraska got a steal.

Fourteen and a half points per game is a decent number for a college player, however his abysmal shooting percentage drops the significance of that mark greatly.

Derenbecker is no where near Kyle singler. And singler is not just smart player. That's dumb comparison. Once again I said its only my opinion. We will see come game time. I'm around college basketball a lot and he doesn't impress me as of now. Maybe things will change. I can only hope he turns out to be great

I hope there is improvement over last year's team. I am so tired of hearing about next year. Coach Trent Johnson was suppose to have been a lights out hire. Are we gonna be using excused like suspensions and dropouts as our defense every year ? I go to basketball games at LSU, I am tired of the "next year" mantra. I guess you have to accept the truth that LSU basketball is never going to be able to be on the high shelves like UNC and Duke. And most LSU fans are o.k with that...which pisses me off even more. We are settled with mediocrity when it comes to the men and women's basketball teams. If Trent cannot get us back to the Dale Brown days within two more seasons, I think we need to hire John Brady back...and I hate Brady.

well getting O'Bryant and Gathers in back to back years should make people feel pretty good. I'll feel good about a lineup one day of

Stringer
Turner
Derenbecker
O'Bryant
Gathers

not a great shooter? Maybe not great, but he is very good shooter.

Not a great athlete? no, he's not. But he is a very good athlete.

He's already the best passer on the team and hasnt played a game yet. And he can create his own shot, and he is also very good coming off screens.

Not sure what games you watched. But you are just a kid, you prob played against him and he lit you up.

BTW, he was All state as a SOHPMORE at a 5A school...Ponchatoula...and was a standout AAU player....dont give me the competition bullshite

I've always thought Derenbecker would be at least a consistent 3 point threat.

I don't think he's Redick or anything but he'll contribute immediately. I think he'll start the season off the bench and battle Harris for PT

no one's really talking about courtney. after a couple years of hitting up the weights and playing behind storm i think this kid's gonna be a nice player.

Andrew Del Piero should make a nice addition to the rotation of big men.
