Malone and Bridgewater both still on the roster. Malone is currently looking around, but has the option to come back next season.

Earth shattering updates I know.

Interesting. Johnny just said on the radio that he was looking, but if he didn't find anything he would be back. Guess he just found something

He is. But Johnny said he's graduating in 3 years. So he could still play if he wanted I suppose.

To some extent. Though neither adds much, they both add more than empty seats. Will Johnny actually be able to fill those seats or will we be 2 short of a full roster.

I'm talking about 2 fairly ineffective basketball players...its clearly the dead time of the year

Johnny made sure to not add any pressure on Blakeney because he will be counted on so heavily, and that was the right thing for him to do.

Blakeney only started consistently contributing late last season. He will have to be good most all of next season. That's going to be tough, cuz Antonio is a streak shooter and he won't have Ben. Johnny mentioned Sampson. He was a non-factor last season. Brandon will have to somehow be a completely different player next season.

ETA: Does LSUSPORTS.NET ever update the basketball roster?

Guards will be the strong part of the team next year. Unfortunately, we will get murdered down low with no one outside of Victor defending the post. Actually we will be weak both at forward and center. Anyone thinks that ER3 or Epps can make a significant jump next year and contribute?

I lol'd when someone once said on here that Epps will be the next Tyrus Thomas. I don't think Epps wants to mix it up inside and like Sampson, he wasn't much of a factor last season.

Elbert may be able to give you 5 decent minutes and has shown some decent offensive skills, but I just don't think Elbert will ever truly take to basketball.

I think Elbert will be a solid player next year. Hopefully those juco guys will have an impact. Everybody forgets about them.

Johnny boasted about a 19 win, 3rd place SEC finish this morning. Amazing accomplishment for having the best player in the nation and 3 or 4 other players that will play in the NBA or at least get good looks. Too bad the team was dysfunctional and the HC had no control over it.

I have zero faith that Robinson will be anything but. He is to slow, can't jump and has hands of stones.

Bridgewater just needs to go ahead and give football a shot.

Even the basketball staff isnt optimistic so not sure why you would believe so.

Reath will help, but with only 2 potential bigs...it wont be pretty.

Yeah a major major weakness of the team next year will be only 2 quality bigs and that's assuming Reath is pretty decent. Victor and Reath will have to play 35 quality minutes a game for us to be any good, and I dont see that happening. Maybe Victor's rouge fouls will decrease?

Kentucky was full of 5 star players and A&M was a senior laden team with former 5 star players and a big time center re cruit. Both teams were more talented than us. We finished basically where we were projected to finish. Our issue was losing games to terrible teams in non conference.
