Concern-we are still not finishing at the basket with very easy shots. This will cost us in the big tourney if we don’t get this corrected. Question-why the hell do we not put one single player to potentially get a rebound when we shoot free throws sometimes. This baffles me.

Not as much as us busting our asses on d and get them to shoot a bad shot just to get bailed out because we can’t get a defensive rebound. Its been happening more and more at the worst times.

I don't understand the free throw shooting thing either, but I think this team is still growing and gradually getting better with each game. My hope is that we can get to a point that we play at a high level the entire game and put away teams early and not let them hang around. Allowing teams to hang around in the NCAAs is a recipe for disaster!

Would love to see our shooting % from inside the paint.
< 50% I would guess.

If we have bigs in foul trouble, there's really no reason to put another big there for a potential foul call would be my guess. I think that happened after Emmitt was in foul trouble.

Coming into today we were 54% inside the arch and second nationally in 2 point field goals so we’re actually an elite scoring team inside the paint.

Agree, I’ve seen Kentucky win titles and get to final 4s playing the way we do without great 3point shooting but we have guys who we’ve seen make them at a high clip and just aren’t right now. Mays is the main guy, he came into conf shooting 44% from 3 and is in the mid 20s since. Waters is around his career average but we need to get better as a team. Shot selection has been the key with the other guys, when Smart and Naz take good 3s they hit em they just take too many bad ones. We have the shooters we just need better shot selection.

I think we do need our 3point percentage to come up a bit but it’s amazing how that kindve problem, like most, corrects itself by simply making better decisions. It’s one of the things I love most about hoops.

I agree up to a point Mad, I but we're missing too many good looks as well. One of the 4 we made today was a bad selection by Smart, guy all over him but it fell.

I do think we are a better shooting team than we've been showing, but I've been saying that for over a month and I'm still waiting. Maybe we'll come around at the end which would be nice.

The best thing this team has to credit is the tourney tempo style of play. The guys have gained so much confidence by Coach Wade letting them play more freely than we’re accustomed to seeing. They’ve won with it! I’m am expecting to see some unexpected shyt over the next month though. This team also has a legit five players who can take over a tournament game. That’s impressive, yeah?!

Perimeter shooting has been a struggle for sure.

I think we're a better shooting team too than we have been. It's why zone gives us struggles at times. Luckily we've found ways to get through it and get wins.

We actually have some very capable 3 point shooters IMO. If that corrects itself, we could be lights out.

We do but lately Nazs 3 point shooting has dipped at the same time he’s taking more stressed 3s. When he was red hot he was taking wide open 3s he could measure and set on. Smart tends to be the same way fir example the one he hit earlier this week when he re set 2 or 3 different times before he let it go. There are other factors as well like where they’re talking them from fir example Days is good from the top of the key and the corner but struggles from the wing. These things all factor into what I mean when I say better decision making on 3s, guys need to know their sweet spots and be ready from those places. Kinda like pitch selection in baseball.

Today Mays had a lot of opportunities to shoot but didn’t. Wade must really be emphasizing taking it to the rack. He also wants to throw it in to Reid a lot and that makes me nervous as hell...but we are 14-2 in sec so I can’t complain.

Waters and Reid have been inconsistent the last month and we are still winning. I think they will get it together and with how we play on the road we should be able to go deep in the tourney.

I know OP is downvoted, but I welcome the wagoners.

Would have preferred just the question without comment. You can spot the ppl that just tuned in to basketball.

You site legit examples but I think it's deeper than shot selection. I thought the vast majority of shots vs. A&M for example were good looks even in the context you are pointing out, and we went 2-19.

I think there is a mental hurdle that is in play as well, one game can cure that. But I'm still waiting for that one game.
