Co-Season Ticket holder for the first time in my life but I've attended games in the PMAC since 1984. Just wanted to come here and give my 2 cents on what this Basketball Program needs.

1) Fans in the seats. I know it's obvious but last nights game was literally like watching a game in any local HS gym. NO electricity at all.

You must not have been coming too much, because last nights crowd was great for a November non-conf game against one of the worst teams in NCAA Div 1

There isn't going to be that energy until JJ establishes a winning program. Sad but that's how it is. I attend pretty much every game and the PMAC has still been pretty rowdy for the right game. The Marquette game a couple of years ago was pretty rowdy for sure. Just give it time. You can't expect there to be an "electric" atmosphere for a game against UNO, from a program that is just really starting to establish itself again.

I blame it on scheduling. I went to the opener and it was fun.

There isn't a decent home game until Tennessee. I'm not sure if I'll attend again until then.

I bought tickets to support the university. I'm sorry but it's going to be hard to get people to come out and watch you punish ULM, UAB and any other crappy team you can drum up in a 300 mile radius.

I thought about going last night and felt it was akin to just pure wasting my time. UNO doesn't get anybody excited.

Okay, thanks.

I only counted the lower section. I wonder why students chose to sit in the middle and upper sections away from the court? The lower section was only about 1/3 occupied when I did my counting.

Oh, okay. I confess I didn't read through the entire thread. Maybe I should try doing that before I post....

Besides all of the maniacs being weird, creepy, not funny, doing shitty chants, ect, the seats also can't see much. You get a much better view of the court from the midtier and upper level seats.

People going on about the students being nerds or losers is pretty overblown.

I always sat in the middle sections behind the band because I could see the game better. Was really not fun going from courtside SS when I started school to behind the goal after I finished.

From memory, I thought the lower section was about half full yesterday and about maxed out against NSU. Of course, I did not count like you did.

JC refers to Jon Cefalu. He was wearing a "JC make ya say YE YE" t shirt last night.

Oh, I've noticed if for a long time but now with the coach and players we have, it's time to get out and support this team.

Just never felt the need to rant about it until now. Last night was awful.

It starts with winning and then the fans, not fans showing up and then winning. All this team needs to do is win a few home games in a row against teams that they aren't suppose to beat and the fans will show up. Winning brings fans but I do agree that the players play off the energy of the fans.

I agree. However, I have a gf that's not a big basketball fan (I'm really not either) so I don't go to games that often. I'll go every once in a while when I have time. I'm stuck going to a play on Friday
