The SEC champ got an 8 seed that year, it was a weird fricking year. Using this year to compare is stupid.

No it's not the league isn't significantly stronger now than 2 years ago(UK will come down from last year) and our out of conference games are going to be weaker this year than they were then.

Why the disappointment? They schedule games they had a shot of being competitive in. Would you rather them schedule a top ranked team and get blew off the court and have the fans leave the game at halftime.

Damn, this team is trying to rebuild. Allow them to do that by playing in games that will both challenge the team and allow them to grow. Being slapped around the court by a team like Duke or any other top ranked team really doesn't help this team develop at all. What good will it do when the game is already out of hand by halftime?

Well at least in OOC the only games we could lose are Memphis, Houston, Virginia, Wichita State and maybe South Alabama. Pretty much a joke there.

thunderbird we could lose any. Two years ago we almost lost to McNeese if I remember correctly.

You do.

And you have to remember, a lot of these are home and homes. That means we get UVA next year in the PMAC. And I think Craig Pintens tweeted that starting next year we have a home and home with Marquette. The future looks bright for LSU basketball!

This team will be better than last year so I highly doubt we lose to a nobody like McNeese. But still, my point was our OOC is extremely light and we should win a lot of games there.

There are 100's of teams with RPI's between Duke and Southern. No we don't need to play Duke, UNC or Uconn but when you are buying tickets to see D1 basketball you could see playing USM, TCU, Baylor, Okie State, Nebraska, aTm, etc. We (LSU) needs to sell tickets and get fans back, We do not need to see if we can beat every directional school in the state.

Damn our entire home schedule blows. Even SEC games.. but we already knew what those would be.

Oh well.. I'm still excited for basketball.

ETA: I do hate Houston, though. They always seem to give us trouble.

14-16 wins tops. Sad to see my favorite team at lsu in the dumps. Maybe 2011 we'll be good.

I think that you have a point. I don't for a minute blame Trent for a schedule that will allow him to develop his players as the season progresses. He's doing the right thing. This does mean several poorly attended games, though. The athletic department is establishing a "screw the fans, money is all that matters" attitude. Those things have a way of coming back on you. This is a poor time to up the charges to attend an LSU basketball game, unless money is all that matters.

I hope you see them three times in Houston, which would include the championship game April 4.

yeah houston has nipped us a couple times over the last few years. they even beat us at the pmac during the 05/06 final four year

i think they lost their top two scorers and they've got a new coach. finishing at or above .500 for this LSU team would be satisfying.

I'm a diehard LSU fan from Bastrop,La. living in Tupelo,Ms. The week of this game, I'll get on here and help with restaurants or directions. Tupelo has all the chain restaurants north of town at the Mall area, locals scattered around town. Good BBQ across the street from the game arena. See you then. i disagree, what we need to do is get ready for the sec schedule, and a weaker ooc schedule does that for us. lets the young players gain some confidence before the conference schedule begins. as much as i like to see good teams in the pmac, this is the right thing to do.
