Broussard 0.99
Bugg 1.53
Duvall 1.56
Cartwright 1.69

That's not too shabby for our relievers. Two of those are fresh & 1 soph.

Two of those have "arm soreness" and another just got blown up his last two outings.

This is one of those times where I think I most miss not having Reynolds and Newman on this year's team.

Coaches said Reynolds was back to 100%. Ell was saying that his arm is 100% but that doesn't mean he's ready for game pitching. Coach said it's not worth pulling his RS for this few games left in the season. I expect him to be a weekend starter next season although that competition will be fierce (Poche, Cartwright, Bugg, Newman, Reynolds, and any incoming freshmen).

I don't think Coach has commented on that just yet thus far in the week.

The entire season stats are pretty meaningless.

SEC stats through 5-4

SEC games only LSU is:
10th - batting average
6th - ERA
10th - fielding %

This team isn't great at anything. That PM can have the team above .500 in SEC play with the inconsistency shown by this team is a testimony to a man doing work. Obviously needs to improve the talent and get better production out of what he currently has. Oh, wait, that may be asking too much as they may be doing their best.

I am basically a PM supporter HOWEVER if he doesn't fire his boy and get a new hitting coach I'm jumping off his bandwagon. He is ultimately responsible for all aspects of coaching and Javi sucks. We could use some coaching on baserunning as well.JMO

honestly have no link, it is just based off the kids overall attitude towards the program. I could be wrong but if I had to give a percentage of his chances of pitching in purple and gold, it would be closer to 80%

Soooooooo

Then there is this....

and with these stats people demand a CWS appearance.

we had a great run at the end of the season but when it came down to it. Houston was a better team overall and it showed Sunday and Monday.

Houston outcoached LSU and it showed Sunday and Monday.

Expecting a return to Omaha every year is certainly not realistic.
But LSU definitely had the inside track to Omaha this year. They definitely have better player talent than UH this year.
Then they would have hosted a meh UT team to win a berth in CWS. After the sites were announced, by any measure, the odds were certainly in the favor that it would happen (therefore, it's not ridiculous to expect it).

LSU earned a nat'l seed with their play down the stretch. But when that nat'l seed was announced, expecting a return trip to Omaha is not ridiculous. Getting beat by better players that get hot happens. After the way last wknd transpired, those perfomances & results were more on coaching & approach.
It's actually quite evident.
