That has really gotten to me ever since they filed for bankruptcy. They overpaid out the arse for a pitcher before filing for bankruptcy, how unlucky could lsu be?

I really don't understand why people say this.

He got offered over 5 Million. Was he suppose to turn that down?

I am not mad at him but I am angry with how he did it. He was NEVER coming to LSU. He just used us to get himself a better offer.

I agree that our pitching was still solid without him but it still hurt nonetheless. Thanks to the Dodgers offering him enough money to make him a top 10 in relation to contract dollars. He made more than 6 of the top 10 drafted.

No. He went all out to make the Dodgers THINK he was serious about coming to LSU. He sold the idea that he was not going to sign unless a ridiculous offer showed up...and it did! lol

If you're the Dodgers, I don't think there's any way you just throw a $5 million signing bonus at a kid without having some kind of negotiations w/ the kid and/or his family.

With that, while I don't blame Zach Lee for taking that kind of jack, I do think it was kind of a dick move for him to raise the stakes w/ the Dodgers by coming to fall camp w/ the football team.

None but I am not arguing that point. I am stating what happened was a douche move.

You can all hate me and call me names but the fact remains, he played LSU. He used the name to get himself more money.

I dont need to know him personally to understand the thinking behind what he did.

According to your way of thinking, every kid that signs with LSU but leaves for the MLB draft is a douche and only used LSU for leverage.

You see how dumb that is?

If the kid left for a million, I can understand you saying he wasnt coming anyway. Why do you think they offered him so much money? It's because he wasn't gonna sign for anything less than that. So basically, if they offered him 3 Million he would have said, no thanks, I'm a tiger. That sound like a douche to you?

Well use your brain. You are implying that he would have signed for less than the amount he received. Supposedly, Lee didnt get a contract offer until the last minute. How did you know the Dodgers were going to make that high of an offer when you werent involved in the negotiations. The way things were being told at the time, was that the Dodgers were broke and wouldnt have the money to sign Lee. Also you dont know if Gausmann turning down whatever he turned down, allowed the Dodgers to increase their offer at the last minute.

You just have your feelings hurt. LSU knew the risk. We played the odds. If you had told Miles and Mainieri that as of 9:00 pm the night of the deadline that Lee would still be on campus and willing to turn down 3M+ both coaches would have taken it without thinking twice.

You are upset because he left...not because he used LSU. That is just your rationalization to ease your disappointment.

Both Miles and Mainieri understood what was going on. You did not.

See Delino Desheilds Jr. Signed with LSU, never even stepped foot on campus, not even a visit, if I recall. Drafted 8th overall. That's an example of someone using LSU for leverage.

ZVR is more of an example of someone who used LSU IMO
