Team stat comparisons from Dandy's website. The asterisks indicate stats where LSU holds the advantage if we were to use only the stats from the “Season of O” (the last three games).

RB - Advantage LSU and it's not really that close
QB - Advantage Bama
OL - Even
WR/TE - Even
DL - Even
LB - Advantage Bama
DB - Advantage LSU
ST - Advantage Bama

It will come down to which team plays well in the trenches and on special teams. The team that blocks well and plays smart in special teams will win the game. Also, turnovers will play a huge role.

Our D line needs to play similar to the way we played Johnny Football. Keep him in the pocket and not let him beat us with his legs.

We need to stop hanging our hat on Manziel. Several dual threats have had decent games against us.

Bo Wallace 2012 11 car 54 yards 2 TDs
Dak Prescott 2013 12 car 103 yards 1 TD
Dak Prescott 2014 22 car 105 yards 1 TDs
Andrew Allen NMST 2014 5 car 113 yards 1 TD (and he was the backup)
Nick Marshall 2014 16 car 119 yards 2 TDs
Malik Zaire 2014 22 car 96 yards 1 TD (the running threat of their 2 headed QB)
Zach Mahoney Syracuse 2015 7 car 40 yards (and he was the backup)
Chad Kelly 2015 12 car 81 yards 2 TDs
Chad Kelly 2016 12 car 56 yards

LSU better be on their game, or Hurts (95 car 521 yards 9 TDs), will sting us.

no the best way to compare position grioup to position group to determine who has the biggest talent advantage. compare apples to apples instead of to oranges.

Dl- huge advantage Bama. Proof is that Gilmore is a starter on LSU's DL. Gilmore would not crack Bamas 3 deep depth chart. Godchaeaux and Neal would be on the two deep depth chart maybe, but not on the 1st team starters. Key would be a situational player. Even Tim Williams didn';t start until his senior year and was a situational player his sophomore and junior years. So Key would get PT at times and would be on the two deep chart as a backup.

LSU doesn't really have an advantage in this game other than playing at home.

Bama's run D is better than LSU's rush O
Bama's pass rush murders our pass blocking
Bama's pass D is much better than LSU's pass O
LSU's pass rush equals (you could maybe say slightly better) Bama's pass blocking
LSU's pass D equals Bama's pass O
LSU's rush D equals Bama's rush O
Bama also has the better S/T and coaching

LSU needs a miracle to win

A lot of ancient history pre/Arranda
IIRC Kelly was #1rusher and I'd take that vs gumps

I used Manziel as an example because it was widely known his arm was not his strength. Much like Hurtz. Dak and Kelly are more of a true dual threat and can still beat you with their arm

You forgot one thing.....Coaching. Advantage Bama, and that's 25% off the equation.

No need to overthink it. Play mistake free, cause them to make mistakes, and the talent and home crowd will make a win possible.

that's a misconception. LSU has always, even with Miles, been able to stay in the ball game against Bama. That has to be attributed to coaching. Getting the players motivated is a big part of coaching and we have excelled in that area in recent years. Saban is somewhat overrated in the area of game planning and inn game adjustments. What makes him a great coach is his recruiting prowess of getting the far superior athletes and depth it brings over his opponents. I think we have the edge in coaching right now with coach O, Ensiminger, Aranda, and Peveto, and Craig. They have coached lights out since Miles and Cam have gone.

a win is still possible. Depends on how the ball bounce, the degree the refs frick LSU over, and LSU playing its "A" game and hope Bama sleep walks through the game. Remember Ole Miss beat them 2 years in a row with the same formula.

RB - Slight advantage LSU
QB - Advantage Bama
OL - Slight Advantage Bama
WR/TE - Slight Advantage Bama
DL - Slight Advantage Bama
LB - Slight Advantage Bama - Beckwith is great, Ruben Foster is a beast as well. So even there but advantage bama on the outside I think.
DB - Advantage LSU
ST - Slight Advantage Bama - We have gotten better since the season of O started but still have some catching up to do.
Intangibles - TBD???

Kelly was the #2 rusher and only had 260 yards and 3 TDs before playing LSU.

That doesn't compare to Hurts OR the fact that he has much better RBs and OL than Ole Miss, that LSU will have to focus on in the option game.
