Got it....still feel it's a waste to argue with those who want to make it an issue.
The info you put together is very interesting though and thanks for the extra work.

Nor has LSU even placed in the Fulmer Cup the last three years. If that doesn't settle whatever "debate" is still going on, nothing will.

Year to date:

No LSU here either.

Mizzou in the lead with 14.
Arky and UF tied for second with 13.
LSU must not be trying very hard.

It's never a waste to point out to the "Miles has loss control" crowd that when compared to the SEC as whole, LSU/Miles has done a better job trying to control the actions of 18-22 yr old males in the last 3 yrs better than any school in the west and every school in the SEC save for Vandy.

Add in the facts LSU has the 2nd highest grad rate and the #1 winning rate in the SEC, since 05, and we a staff that seems pretty damn well in control to me.

The gist of the thread as far as I see is LSU being put in a neagative light because of the actions of a few wayward souls. It really doesn't matter that Matthieu was of the team for 6 months. He was arrested for the same thing for which he was kicked from the team.

And then during the NFL draft, every mention of Matthieu included the words LSU cornerback, and then they went into his legal problems. Do you really think the rest of the country gives a rat's arse that he had been gone for 6 months. What they know is that he was an LSU player who got into legal trouble and was kicked from the team. Perception IS reality.

The fact is Miles does an extremely good job getting good guys and managing the program. But when a guy comes in, does bad and is kicked from the team, what he does soon after still reflects badly on the program.

When a U or Miami thug did wrong years later does it still not reflect badly on UM? When Stanford players do well, do community service, never get in trouble even years later and you never hear bad about former Stanford players does it reflect positively on Stanford? Of course it does.

If perception is reality, then ignorance must be bliss.

Your whole statement is based on one fallacy of thought.

Perception IS reality

Perception is not truth.
In fact Perception IS often altered reality. Perception is not always based on facts as the original post in this thread proves. Perception is only a surface reflection of reality.

I prefer not to let what others falsely perceive to alter my life.

I don't think the rest of the country gives a rat's arse about LSU in the first place.

quote:

Perception IS reality.

Who's reality are you talking about? You know how much everyone in the country thinks about LSU? I promise no one in the country is as worried about LSU/LSU players as LSU fans.

Why should I care about what Miami, Stanford, or any other school's players are doing? You care about what other people think way too much.

Actually going better over there than I expected.

I guess it's really only some LSU fans that think Miles isn't in control.

More proof that their perception is not reality. Which was the point of this thread.

Accept for the fact he wasn't an LSU football player and LSU had no control of or responsibility for his actions anymore than the 30,000 other students on the LSU campus.

Yeah, and the reality is LSU under Miles kicks high profile players off the team as well as reserves.

The main thrust of the draft talk was on Matthieu and his problems. Not on LSU or LSU problems.

Not reading through all 14 pages of this... got through about 6 and stopped. Any mention in here about the severity of the charges?

Personally, I'd say assaulting a student (Bama) and armed robbery (Tennessee) take precedence over smoking weed and some bullshite ordinance violations (LSU)

yep even in the fights you got JJ with one kick and Hill with one punch. Other than that, it's DUI, weed, or arguing with a cop

I believe they needed at least one to remain in a major football conference. :)
