I believe their defense stats are inflated due to playing some poor shooting teams.

Not saying that LSU hasn't played tough, hard defense, but I think you could say this about a lot of teams throughout the country. Is it good defense? Or poor offense? I think it's a case of both.

Growing up watching basketball in the 80's and early 90's it seemed like if a guy got an open shot anywhere (but especially inside the 3pt line) they buried it consistently. Today's offense appears to be either drive to the basket or shoot a 3. The mid-range jumper seems to be a thing of the past, which is why it is almost impressive when guys like Warren and Hamilton can hit those with consistency.

Well, you look at say our matchups we had against Marquette.

LSU gave up 59 and ole Miss gave up 96. Now I know it was a different game, but thats really the best offensive team they have played and they failed.

South, you want a good laugh? Go read the thread by hoofhearted, it's awesome, his OP sucked, but his reactions are wonderful

I agree with you SoSouth. Big statement game. At home...you gotta get fired up about starting the meat of the season.

LSU looking to rebound after tough loss against UVA. I think the Tigers have the better together talent of the two teams.

I got LSU winning this one. LSU 67 Ole Miss 61 .

I'm worried with the absences of White and O'Bryant, but I think at home we'll pull it out.

61-55

Thanks for letting me know Nelson status. I'll do some research tomorrow to see who will take his place. That's a big loss for them

Serious question:

Is Del Piero going to have to play?

0% chance. We still have storm, Hamilton, White, Eddie and even J Courtney who can all rotate at 4 and 5. We are gonna be completely fine. We will miss JoB but it won't be the end of the season.

White is out tomorrow.

That's Hamilton at 5, Storm at 4.

Two quick fouls on both, and you've got Ludwig playing center?

Courtney or John Isaac at 4?

Yikes.

Hamilton played fr 35 minutes last game. I see him playing that much again. Storm can relieve him at 5 some and Eddie and Courtney will get extended minutes. Not ideal at all, but I think we can manage. Rebounding will take a hit but hopefully Eddie comes up

I'll be there. Plenty of time to party for the Saints after. I have LSU winning a close one, 58-55.

I see this as an opportunity for Courtney. He has shown some promise. No, the 4 is not where he'll be playing when White returns but an opportunity is an opportunity and he's produced fairly well in limited minutes this year.
