I really like seeing us spread the opposing defense out more. We appear to have three solid WRs in Diarse, Dural, and Quinn. It also takes that extra man out of the box. I'm really glad that we faced this challenge early in the season. It think it really prepares us for the upcoming season.

Yes. If our o-line isn't getting the job done we should see some 3 wides to open things up.

3 WR and run the ball. It works well.

Yes it does. Especially when only 6 in the box. 6 on 6 blocking in front of our RBs....I like our chances

Jennings seemed to be more comfortable in that set as well. I like that we can also run the pistol with 3 WR set. I just can't understand some people who are already quitting on the Tigers. I think Wisky was really, really good and our young QB and WRs grew up last night.

I watched the replay on espnu and charted every play that I could. Any time we were in 12,21,or 22 personnel Wisconsin had at least 8 men in the box. Most times 9. If we are going to have an effective running game we are going to have to spread it out or throw it more on first and second down. I've read that some are critical of the run blocking but 7 isn't blocking 9 no matter who you have on the field

You should have charted how many second down runs we had. Didn't matter if it was second and short, or second and long, we ran the ball on about 93% of second downs.

That was actually the worst call of the night not going back to the 3 wr set, zone read run on that 3rd and 3 late where we ran option with fournette and it got blown up. Seemed like a no brainer decision since we had started gashing them in the 4th.

I thought we used it most of the first half with little effect. I thought we made our bones by bringing in two TE's in the second half... Any yardage available yet on productivity of each set???

I didn't chart any statistics. The whole point of my research was to argue with a buddy who was trashing the I line . The 3 WR sets definitely opened things up. I liked the first down pass to Dural over the middle out of the two back set. It backed them off the next play. Point is don't expect the running game to be effective unless the opponent respects the threat of the pass

We have depth at receiver to go more three and four wide!

I think this game will do a lot for us down the stretch. I think Jennings gained a lot of trust from the staff. Their biggest concern was probably trusting him to not turnover the ball.

We better, I lost my voice during last two possessions when we abandoned the only thing that got us back in the game. The two scrimmages I attended we were damn near exclusively in the one back set. Keep the full back on the bench.

It moved UW out of its run stop defense to a nickel defense which required different set players which opened up the run.

3WR Groupings being seen or used more often by LSU don't have anything to do with the receivers or depth at the receiver position.

It has everything to do with whether our front five can adequately pass pro, and whether the back in the game with that grouping can block adequately when we pass.

If we can't adequately pass protect with a Tay Tay or Fournette, etc, then we become predictable in the personnel grouping if we can't pass pro out of it. If we put in only certain backs and personnel for it in the backfield, then that becomes more of a tell or tip of the hand.

We need the line to protect adequately and the backs to be able to learn to block in pass pro as well.
