He's right. Those other games were different. We had receivers open all night, and if you watched, you saw what the running game was doing. Would have been ugly.

Hell, I agree with the guy. Still no reason to come in and talk about what didn't happen.. And talk shite saying we made them look silly and make excuses for why it was close. Guy just wanted to talk about what actually happened.

Not much to get excited about by either fan base
lol Iowa is a mediocre program and has to go through losing seasons every few years to reach the summit of a 10 win season

LSU has a "bad" season and still wins 10 games

frick your shitty program

What I am saying is that even with your fresh QB, especially since we were hurt there also, you should have won by 11 points. You didn't. We should have never been in this game. We would have never had gained over 200 yards playing like we did against MSU.

It was a very sloppy performance by both teams. LSU is better. Much better. Mo one is arguing otherwise.

Guy makes a good thread and you come in here spewing bullshite.

A fan from another team, that LSU just beat, comes here & tells us that LSU football fans should be concerned about our program does NOT constitute a good thread. And if you don't believe that having Mett in the game throwing to OBJ & Landry would've changed the margin of victory, then you didn't watch the same game I did. LSU owned the line of scrimmage & with the way Hill was running, Mett, OBJ, & Landry would've all had record days. The playbook was watered down to reduce the pressure on the freshman qb making his first start & Iowa wasn't able to stop what they knew was coming straight at them. You can't make the comparison between Iowa, Ole Miss, & Arky because LSU didn't dominate those teams the way they dominated Iowa, had they, I'm pretty sure the outcome of both of those games would've been different also.

we win shite loads of games by fewer points than we should

it's been going on for almost a decade. It's not some ground breaking news that you discovered by watching LSU beat your team

it's no reason to be concerned. We are used to this shite

I understand what you're saying. I just don't agree with you. Could it have been phrased differently? Of course.

First, LSU is a better team. Probably by 13 points.

Iowa D and LBs were very good.
Our freshman QB got valuable game time experience and will improve next year.

The refs stole two fumbles from us. One of those led directly to an Iowa TD.

Solid post.

Iowa fans were very friendly throughout the game. Hope we play again, some time.

Yes I started a new thread about this, after a couple of days to digest it all. No I don't want an argument about low class fans, academic standards etc. I don't participate in these types of discussions.

Good man.

I agree with your assessment. I for one, was pleased LSU played hard and wanted to be there because that had been questioned in 3/4 previous bowl games.

Iowa simply didn't have the horses to keep up. The game was close but the outcome never felt in doubt.

Good post and good luck in the future.

When it mattered, LSU's OL and backs did what winners do. They won.

From an Iowa fan's perspective, this was a difficult game to watch. Another difficult season actually. From what I understand about LSU football, I'd speculate there is cause for concern here as well.

Now wait a minute, Iowa has a strong defense, and LSU showed they can go out there and play smash-mouth with the B1G. They will be working on exactly this going into next season - running the ball vs 8-9 in the box - in preparation for Wisconsin.

Jennings will have to be able to hit the open WR in man coverage next season, however, he didn't look too strong there. But again, it was against a solid defense.

I didn't expect Miles to do anything more offensively than what it was going to take to win the game. No way he runs up the score on a coach I think he has much respect for.

LSU's defense looked fine and pretty much shut Iowa down. Two scoring drives coming from ST and an INT aren't on the D.

Hey Golfer
Im not sure what youre trying to say in this post.
Iowa couldve done some things differently scheme wise and play calling, but do u honestly think it wouldve made a difference? LSU just had better players all over the field and came ready to play.

So that leads us to the fake injury part of your post.

"It is low class to boo any player down at any time by any fanbase."

Im sure the Iowa fans that traveled to Tampa arent reflective of the entire Hawkeye Nation. But, it came across as poor sportsmanship to say the least on a national stage for your university. The rule is a joke and needs to be defined but to boo an injured player for any reason in front of children is low class. One day there will be real shame in doing this.

"All in all, I doubt either team's fan base will talk much about the 2014 Outback Bowl as the years pass."
This sums up this game in its entirety. What a bore.

Iowa golfer person..... thanks for the post. I like reading what (honest) opposing fans have to say. What you didn't mention was our defense played one hell of a game after a poor season.

Good luck Iowa.

My point is mostly that Iowa was potentially one of the worst offenses you faced this year. It is what it is. I'm shocked we gained over 200 yards.

And produced ZERO scoring drives.

I felt comfortable with LSU's defense in the game.
