I disagree. We were jacked to play Washington and it showed.

I agree completely. When we "want" to play we are dominant. That Washington game reminded me of the intensity we showed against Oregon and West Virginia last year. You take away those drops and the opening kickoff fumble and thats a near perfect exhibition of the potential of this team.

This team had a sense of entitlement and it showed through the first 5 cupcakes. But theyve been knocked back down to earth by their own doing and that may have reset their focus/determination.

Come on man. Have you not watched the game. If we dont drop the ball, I assure you Mett would have 50-75 more yards a game and 1 more TD a game. Dont expect much more than that from our offense, we just run the ball too damn well. The drops arent being made by poor talent, its elite talent that just hasnt maintained focus.

We're gonna win baby. The defense is going to be pissed off. They will atone for last week. We're going back to old school, run it down their throats most of the time, but make timely passes as needed. The turnovers have been addressed. Book it.

Sad part is LSU "fans" hate LSU more than ESPN ever will.

Tigers are better run team than Kentucky and they ran pretty well against the gators a couple of weeks ago.

To me "the biggest loss" implies that he hasn't been replaced by a player that can match his production. That simply isn't the case. Freak has been dominant through the first 5 games and if he keeps up his current production he will surpass Brockers in both ability and production.

Brockers was one of the best, if not THE best run defender at tackle that LSU has had in a long time. Freak is a bit of a different player. He is more athletic than Brockers and a much better penetrator and pass rusher...and will cause more havoc to offenses IMO.

Very big, we are not getting the surge from the front four we got a year ago and that puts pressure on our young linebacking corps.

Also, offense is still inept, not only in passing, but just about every aspect of the term "offense." We have no real passing game, no in routes, no posts, have not seen a 5-10 yard drag from a slot receiver all year. We throw simple, vanilla, high school type passes that don't confuse the defense. Not only the mundane passing game, but the receivers aren't catching the ball very well either.

But all that being said, I think one of our biggest problems is that we do not have a leader. We don't have anybody that the rest of the team feeds off of. I won't go as far to say Mathieu was a leader but he was a spark and the team got energized off of him. Mo Claiborne was a leader, the defense knew they could count on him to get the job done every single play. You never knew with Mathieu. We don't have that kind of prescense right now. We don't have a guy that everybody leans on. Leaders do everything right all the time, and when they screw up they don't sulk (Jefferson) and they don't shell up (Lee) they get their asses out there and say "I want the damn ball in my hands when it matters most." I just don't know if we have that person on this team.

'03- Justin Vincent, Matt Mauck, Chad Lavalais, Corey Webster.

'07- Matt Flynn, Jacob Hester, Glenn Dorsey, Craig Steltz

Give this a rest, would you please? I've seen you post this crap in a bunch of threads.

Stop your incessant trolling.

ETA: FWIW, I don't think you troll the board, I usually agree with your posts but in this case, you are clearly trolling. Just wanted to mention that.

95th ranked in what category? Yards or YPG?
Don't you know there are about 95 teams that don't have the talent to do anything but sling the ball around.
In the top 25 ypg there are maybe 4 legit teams to have a chance at a 4 team playoff and most of the rest have losing records.

I'd like to see LSU with more pass yards, but only to help the running game.
LSU is ranked respectably in categories that count.

24th YPA

The only thing that really matters is turnovers. If we dont turn the ball over, the penalties and droppsies would be mostly overlooked though still talked about.

What about Towson gaining 188 yards on the ground? We can't stop the run it seems. I think they actually beat us in rushing yards

I think you have to throw the Towson game out. We all know Lsu doesn't play like that.

They slept walked through that game and were flat. Anyone could see it.

Your right that's the ONLY issue we have on OFFENSE and that's why we don't dominate opponents

They will eliminate the turnovers. It's the o-line I'm worried most about, particularly pass blocking/blitz pickup. If they improve those areas, they'll be almost unbeatable.

I agree. Unfortunately, there are some here who will bring this game up every week for the rest of the season, even if LSU keeps winning.

Not the only problem, No. But turnovers keep teams in the game, they motivate, they turn the momentum, they cost u points both as an offense and defense.

We would have steamrolled auburn and Towson if we don't give them the ball. Why do u think it gets brought up by miles and every other coach in America.

We do kill our momentum turning the ball over, which is a huge problem, but that was not our only problem in those games. Penalties and the fact that Towson and Auburn could put 8-9 in the box and stop our run. When we throw we can't get the ball to the wideout because the 7-8 men in the box pass rush when they see a pass.

Teams dare us to throw the ball because they no we can not. Towson embarrassed LSU, let see if they can turn it around.

This is just my observation and opinion, others vary.
