I've been to all the big ones since 99 and the loudest game was definitely 2000 Tennessee ...it's a clear #1 in mind....it was a mind numbing static loud that just would not stop....

Alabama 2012 was loud but it wasn't one of the greats. Alabama took the crowd out of it for half of the game.
Georgia 2003 is the answer. Imagine if that game was at night.

Absolutely! 79 USC. I was there on FRIDAY Night and it was crazy... rocking USC players busses... Three players on that USC team made NFL Hall of Fame... NFL... 12 First Round Draft Choices on One Team... Two Heisman Trophies... Good ole days... These yungins' today ain't got no idea what loud is... It did not stop. You could not hear the person next to you except at quarter and half time breaks... And that was only 78,000...

USC '79 was definitely louder than the Ohio St. day game. I have watched but not been to many of the modern games, but it would be hard to surpass the enthusiasm of the '79 crowd, it roared and rocked the entire game. USC was Goliath and we were David. Or think the Spartans at Thermopylae. You kinda had to be there to understand.

I remember that.
The USCe game from a couple years ago was pretty loud but the Bama game in 2012 was nuts.

I have been going to games since 2001, so I only now of how loud games were since that period. There have been some pretty damn loud games (UGA 2003, BAMA 2012) But IMO Florida 2007 was the loudest game I have ever been to.
