woods, alexander, alem, are good riddance
holliday is easily replaced by R sheppard
cutrera can be replaced
jai can step in for hawkins

gee, that was easy. quit bitching

lafell will be missed
black was a liability this year
dickson was non existent, perterson will replace
the RB stable is solid

Welllll, frick.

Supposedly Miles sits ALLLL the good young players, and now we are just gonna suck donkey balls cause all the older crappy players are gone.

I am just confused.

That's a rather ridiculous assesment. LSU plays in the SEC, its not exactly shocking that they have few games that are locked in as wins. I don't care how good they are, that will be the case. Second, the idea that LSU has 4 probable losses on their schedule is downright insane. As far as Ole Miss goes there is no particular reasons that they will be better especially with Snead leaving. Arkansas will be a fight, but a sure loss of course not. And shoot, its not like LSU got throttled by Alabama or Florida this year so there not even sure losses. Football is a sport, there is no such thing as certainty in results. Not to mention that LSU is an upper tier SEC team for whom there is no such thing as a sure loss.

Please help to convince me of this

For losing Woods, Alexander and Alem on the dline, we will likely see more Nevis, Downs, Davenport, Brockers & Montgomery... not to mention that Aghayere and Lavar Edwards were getting more time as this past season went on.

For losing Cutrera, Riley & Coleman, we will likely see more Baker & Minter, and probably another converted safety (Francois?).

I could go on for every position group-- there's a lot of talented backups. While there are some players who are truly hard to replace (Dorsey, Laron Landry, etc.) most of the players you listed weren't game changers... a couple of them, maybe.

Every year new players make a name for themselves, so relax and enjoy the ride.

you make it sound like LSU defied odds in 2007. they were ranked preseason #2.

Personally I'm kinda happy Alem is gone. He was no good when it came to run defense and he continually would get to far up field. Plus he runs like a goof ball.

DLine can't get much worse

How far along our younger LBers are should be a telling sign. This is a big question mark.

Hawkins

Was never consistent, shouldn't be much of a drop off.

Coleman

If Loston is the stud that many think he is... then we shouldn't lose much in transition.

mike linebacker has a point. We might be the only fanbase in the world who would tear itself apart over 11 win seasons.
(However, I personally do not understand the lack of outrage at the retainment of Crowton).

Next year could be rough, but I don't see any game that we can't win. While I am very concerned about the playcalling, people are expecting the new starters to be far inferior to our current starters. I am excited to see many players who will be first time starters this year, including Hurst, Blackwell, Ryan Baker, Ford/Ridley/Murphy, and redshirted players who will contribute this year.
