looks more like a loss of confidence in the staff than the players.

we didn't look ready to start the season vs fsu. our players were coached out of position or were just out of position. see harold perkins. some really good players didn't see the field.

If RG is a problem, can we at least try Martinez? should the staff given Heard a little experience in game one? i haven't rewatched the fsu game to focus on the oline, but many ranters are talking about how bad turner is getting abused. how can we run if the center is getting pushed around? is there a plan b?

the narrative last year for bringing in JD was we needed a mobile qb because of oline play. well? he's still mobile. should the staff be building the oline with the new guys? sure, they need to be brought along. i guess this is an issue that will work itself out. still, from what i see, the pass blocking is pretty good so why don't we emphasize the passing game? if we have to pass every down, so be it. Hell, we've got a heisman candidate playing qb!

the ranters have been pointing out this stuff and more on and on. it's mostly based on criticism of coaching decisions. i haven't given up on the staff by any means but my confidence in them isn't what it was.

Jayden Daniels lacks the sense to make his mobility an asset to the passing game. Good QBs who can move keep their eyes downfield to spot open receivers until they pass the LOS. Daniels just runs for yards at the first sign of pressure. That is not what you want if you're trying to throw the ball and get people out the box.

Go back and watch the pass that Lacy dropped on 3rd down against FSU.

He did this to perfection on that play.

quote:

Daniels just runs for yards at the first sign of pressure.

So many more examples to debunk this, but that one play stands out.

So you think players dropping balls, QBs being taught correct reads and not reading them, safeties coming up and not making the tackle they were in position to make, Chestnut getting balls picked off over his head...these are coaching? shite.

One could say that we have a talent eval problem possibly.

That and not being able to create any pressure on the QB is my only real potential coaching concern.

The staff that turned around after a 40-13 loss to Tennessee to beat two top-10 teams in a row last year & win the SEC West?

Ok..

Remember when the whole rant was questioning Chavis on why welter or whatever his name is ..why he is in the game?
Was the rant wrong then?
Lots of examples of obvious things not saying ranters can't be wrong.

we looked good in the first half except for not punching it in when in the red zone. If we did capitalize on a few of those the game could've been completely different.

Sanders for Colorado is the best Double threat in College Football right now. He actually is very accurate throwing the ball and isn't scared to throw into tight spaces. He only runs to buy time for his passes.

Daniels on the other hand??? Same ole same ole.

Welllll I don't know about you but I trust the judgement of the Ranters way more than I trust the opinions of the coaches.

Some of the things you're saying are what everybody believes. The reason you are getting so many downvotes is because the FSU game was almost 2 weeks ago and all of this had been discussed ad nauseum

He's taken 11 sacks and has -62 yards rushing on the season (obviously including sacks). He's not the best dual threat in college football, Caleb Williams clearly is.

look, I like Kelly and think we'll be fine.

But Gray, your post is effectively a blind allegiance to the coaching staff. Does that apply to EVERY coaching staff?

Because Gray, sometimes, coaches aren't good. And to just default to "I'll trust the opinions of the coaches" is far too simplistic.

The world is littered with bad coaches, CEOs, mayors, principals, etc, etc. etc.

Merely because a person is in a high position, doesn't automatically mean they're great at what they do. Incompetent people are in high positions, all over the country, so you can't just blindly say "I trust the people in charge."

It's fair to offer opinions on the results that we see -- and sometimes, we're right and the leaders (whether of a team, a corporation, a school, a city, and yes, even a country) are wrong.

If you don't think we had good coaching last year then you are clueless. They didn't suddenly forget how to coach this year. Yes they were trying some things out against FL St that would have been better to wait till Grambling but we played with what may be the best team in college football this year for 3 qtrs and were 6-7 plays from making it a different game. The defense shut Grambling down from the middle of the 2nd qtr on. The offense scored a TD on EVERY possession.TD on EVERY possession. When's the last time we did that I don't care who you are playing. I'm not saying it's all fixed and we'll win out but I'm not a sky is falling chicken little either. Saturday will tell a lot but geeze at least wait till that game is played before making any judgements on anything. We are only 2 games into the season.

There are a ton of fans that say this coach sucks and this player sucks someone else should be playing etc. It is pretty stupid to make these judgements based on what you see on TV compared to what professionals see day in day out at practice. Also you don't know what plays are called and what each player is responsible for on any given play.

that's the point. they did a great job this year. that's what's disappointing in the regression. can they come back? sure they can. hope they do.

How this is downvoted by 13 in addition to the auto 1 downvote is perplexing.
