south carolina will travel in droves to orlando vs (likely) wisconsin

we also know that best possible turnout for mizzou fans is Sugar or Cotton

i think that cap one and cotton make deal for cap one to take gamecocks for the mutually beneficial money aspect of bowls

You mean to tell me that Miles will have a chance to beat a team that the greatest coach in negatiger minds couldn't beat. Be sure the suicide lines are staffed at 100% if Miles is able to do what Saban was unable to do.

Actually hoping for Outback. Tampa is a great destination...underrated...with beaches across the bay. Frankly, much better than Dallas or Orlando (unless your family is into theme parks).

And an LSU -Iowa rematch 9 years later would be nice. For those who think Saban is some football genius, he coached awful in that game. Our D was not set on that last Hail Mary to lose that game.

In this scenario, either Auburn/Mizzou loser goes to Cotton with the winner either in the BCSCG/Sugar Bowl.

no

if Mizzou losses and they are still available for the outback they would take them.

SECCG loser has to go to Cotton if not selected by Cap One

it's the safety net rule with Cotton being bowl game this year

please see USA Today link earlier in thread

I wish more people would realize this.
We need a stickied bowl prediction thread.

what? makes no sense

cap one gets first pick after BCS

followed by Outback and Cotton. If Cotton wants to go East they must wait till Outback takes a team, If Outback wants West they must wait till outback takes a team. If cap one takes USCe it would make sense that the outback would take Mizzou because they are the best East team available and they are better than the best West ream so they have no point of trying to go SEC west.

If Auburn wins we are going cotton, only if somehow cotton takes aTm for some stupid reason.

note: I could see us going to outback with this scenario

MIzzou wins

Cap one takes USCe
Cotton take Auburn
Outback takes LSU

but I don't see why Cap one takes a 2 loss USCe over a 2 loss top 10 Auburn.

Outback/Cotton Bowl - The Cotton Bowl has the first preference of teams from the SEC Western Division and the Outback Bowl has first preference of teams from the SEC Eastern Division. The Cotton or Outback Bowl can select teams outside of its divisional preference, but must not select them before the opposite bowl selects from its divisional preference.

can someone explain what this means?

Each bowl picks third behind Sugar/Cap One.

If Cotton picks a west team and outback picks an east team, then all is well.

If Cotton wants to pick from the east (or Outback from the West) it essentially must let the other bowl pick first.

yes

after the BCS

the cotton and the outback have the second choice.

If the cotton wants to pick an east team they must wait for the outback to pick

if the outback wants to pick a west team they must wait for the cotton to pick.

So understanding these rules lets look at the scenarios

scenario one cap 1 takes USCe no matter the SECCG loser

Cap one USCe
Cotton Auburn if they lose, LSU if Mizzou loses
Outback Mizzou if they lose, maybe LSU or Georgia not sure what way Outback would go if both Mizzou and USCe are gone and they have to chose between LSU and Georgia who knows what will happen

Scenario two Cap 1 takes SECCG loser
Cap one Auburn/Mizzou
Cotton LSU
Outback USCe

LSU has an outside should of matking the outback if Auburn loses the SECCG and cap one takes USCe

but I doubt LSU goes there based on the history of these bowls and the rules.

You're right. Cotton is bound after those bowl selections.

quote:

This year it is the Cotton Bowl's turn, by contract with the SEC, to take the loser of the SEC Championship Game should it still be available after the BCS bowl selections and the Capital One selection.

I love Tampa but not the Outhouse Bowl.

They've had numerous chances to select teams from the West and passed many times.

(1 team from the west in the past 16 years)

Cotton or Gator works for me!

Tampa is a great city. Lots to do, and the weather is great. Nice stadium as well.

I hate to say it but LSU to the chicken bowl again. LSU seems to get screwed every year with the bowl selection. The cotton hates LSU for some reason. LSU should have gone last year but ATM got to go instead. Then the Cap One a few years back when we were suppose to go to rose or the sugar but UGA got the bit even though LSU had the tie breaker, but we got bypassed. Face it it's the chicken bowl.
