First, I come in peace... I hope we can have a nice discourse about the game and the players involved.

I think that LSU and Wisconsin is a great match up and having it in Green Bay is amazing, I only wish I could be there. I'd really love it if the two schools would find a way to do a Home and Home in the near future. Probably wont ever happen, but it be nice to have two of the greatest fan bases host each other.

As far as the game goes... I think it will be more competitive then many of the experts think. Here is a breakdown of Wisconsin and a few reasons why I believe UW will make it a game and might actually pull an upset. Of coarse I'm a total UW homer so keep that in mind. LOL.

Respect! LSU is getting a lot, and UW is getting none!

FYI...UW IS A QUALITY PROGRAM TOO! Why UW isn't ranked to start the season is beyond me? Wisconsin is a program that has been a consistent top 25 for the better part of 2 decades. Has 6 BCS bowl appearances and has been in 14 straight bowl games. UWs played in 3 of the 5 Big Ten Championship games. UW has the second highest winning pct since '93 in the B1G behind only OSU. Wisconsin is a program that develops NFL talent and gets more drafted then some "blue blood" programs. So If you think UW can't hang because we only have "two star guys" you've got another thing coming. UW is a prideful bunch and very rarely gets blown out. Expect a game.

Aranda's gone... So What?

Dave Aranda is a great coach, no doubt, and under him UW was 10-3 last season with the 4th rated defense and 1st rated scoring defense in the nation. We lost to the Tide, Iowa, and Northwestern. The latter two, we should have beaten had it not been for a late fumble the goal line vs Iowa & a controversial call vs Northwestern on a game winning touchdown catch that was taken off the board. The defense by rights could have carried us to 12-1. That being said... the last I checked, PLAYERS make PLAYS and not a coach.

Most of that vaunted UW front 7 are back this season. Yes, we lost our two safeties and our All American OLB, but we replace him with a Watt! As in JJ's younger brother, whom JJ said was the the most athletic of the 3 Watt boys (2 in NFL). Our LB crew is deep on talent and very athletic. Our D-line has 5-6 returning guys that have quality in game experience. Also, keep an eye out for true freshman Garret Rand (4 star), he could be a beast as he already benches over 500# and squats 650+. Our DBs return one 4 year starter at CB and a 2nd CB that was was our nickel guy last season. Safeties are a serious question mark but there is unproven talent back there.

While Aranda is on the other sideline I believe that Justin Wilcox (who was a very respected DC prior to his stint at USC under "Drunk Stakisian") will help keep this 3-4 defense one of the tops in college ball. Wilcox and Aranda have had similar systems and have collaborated with each other in the past. I don't expect there to be much of a drop off honestly.

Wisconsin's offense will be better!

UW went 10-3 last season with arguably the worst offense they have had in the past 10 years. Even though UW did lose it's "all time winning-est QB", the two vying for the job are much better passers with much stronger arms. If they can move the ball without turnovers, the offense will improve. UW running game should be... well, more Wisconsin like. Stabilized by Clement's return from a sports hernia and another year of experience by the back ups I expect the run game to put up big numbers this season. TE's are going to be featured a lot in Chryst's system and we have a good one in Troy Fumagali. The WRs, especially Wheelwright, if he stays healthy, should be much stronger deep threat then last season. The O-line which was very young last season starting 4 Red Shirt Freshman and is still a bit of a question mark, however, there are now 6-8 guys that have quality game experience in the two deep. Player to watch is the new LT as he transferred from D3. He has been rumored to be a total stud. Just note that Joe Schobert, Wisconsin's AA OLB last season, proclaimed him the best OT he faced all season, which includes Alabama's, USC's and all B1G OTs.

LSU Defense. ????

I know you have a lot of talent returning and have a lot of "5 star guys" but with the injuries that seem to be mounting and Aranda trying to install a new system, there might be times when your guys are out of position. This could leave running lanes open for Clement. There was a noticeable difference between Aranda's first season and his third at Wisconsin. It will take time to implement his system effectively. There will be a learning curve, and with this an early season game vs. UW, coupled with the our knowledge of his system, Wisconsin might be best suited to exploit it and gain advantage. Remember his the system is not 100% unbeatable just ask OSU (59-0).

Is your QB better?

You can bet that Wisconsin will defend the run first with LF7 in the backfield. As stated before, I think the UW defense will rival any of the SEC defenses you'll face this season. Is your QB ready to take the next step and be able to beat teams over the top? As I recall, that seems to be what caused him fits last season. There is no doubt that if your guy can deliver on the deep pass, the game gets much easier for your backs. Can he do it? I hope not...If he can then UW may be in for a long night.

Well, just some nuggets to chew on. I am hoping for a great game and hope that all you traveling LSU fans enjoy all that Wisconsin has to offer. It really is a great and unique place. Cheers!

Can't wait to play yall man. I'm DYING for some college football. And I don't think it's a 100% chance that we win either. Last time we played yall we were awfully close to getting beat. I can't speak for the rest of the LSU fanbase but I do NOT take yall lightly.

Here's to a hard hitting, badass football game in September

I agree that it will be close, but probably just first half. Wisconsin handed LSU their own arse for the first 35 minutes of the game in 2014. Best thing Wisc has going is they don't beat themselves with stupid penalties and/or careless turnovers. (LSU has been known to do both)

Wisc will NOT win, LSU ground game will tire wear your defense down in the second half. I think Wisc has good chance of holding a few LSU drives to field goals (more likely LSU doesn't convert 3rd and passing and drive stalls)

LSU won't have great day passing but like 2014 will get a couple big plays that will crush Wisco. Last game was 28-24, prob be similar.

I know UW does good in the Big 10 and y'all had us beat for 3 quarters in 2014 but things are different now.

The 2014 LSU team was the worst in Les Miles' tenure and had the worst QB play. The defense that shut down Wisconsin in the second half later got torched by an average Auburn team.

Yes, Aranda won't have everything implemented in time, but our athletes will outclass yours 9/10 times. Guys like Beckwith, Riley, Adams, White, Jefferson, Godchaux, Herron, Bower, and Neal are all grown men compared to where they were in 2014. Supplementing them are many 4/5 star young athletes like Arden Key, Kevin Toliver, Donte Jackson and on and on. Our defense will be fine.

On offense, it's night and day from 2014 to 2016. The 2014 team was devoid of experienced talent after guys like Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Zach Mettenberger, and Jeremy Hill left. Our true sophomore QB was working with only one start under his belt and had a patchworked OL in front of him.

This offense is absolutely loaded with firepower and 4/5 star freak athletes all over. Yes, you guys have some 3/4 year players and some young talent, but that doesn't compare to the NFL-ready talent that LSU has across the board.

35-17 LSU

Much respect for Wisconsin. You guys have played these type out of conference games. No stranger to a big stage like you stated.
Welcome to TD.

What is the story with your QB.

According to Phil Steele, Houston (Sr) is suppose to be your starter. He does not have a lot of experience

Two freshmen, Hornibrook and Lyles, are suppose to competing for the position.

Can you update this?

Isn't Wisconsin like a B1G version of Arkansas?

LSU hasn't dominated them lately with our old coach.

As stated before, LSU lost last season to the best rushing defenses it faced. Badgers were #4 nationally in rush D last year.

I will be surprised if UW rolls over.

Your old coach is a lot better than your current coach.

Yall won't be able to stop LSU's running game. Fournette and Guice will both be over 100 yards rushing.

i think this game will be very close

it really scares me how wisconsins running game vs our front 7 matches up, and that was BEFORE this weeks injuries.

if they get a solid running game going and Harris cant get the offense moving, we are in big trouble

in the end, i still think we win a 24-20 type of game

Teams that beat up LSU were able to stretch field. (Not to mention one of the three was Nat Champs) Arkansas ran a little bit of everything kept LSU unbalanced all night. Wisco offense is not that.

Wisco doesn't have athletes to stretch field. We see boring dumps to TE in the flat everyday in practice. Wisco big white slow TE's will have a hard time beating LSU LB's and S.

Should have stopped reading here. You dont lose one of the best DC's in the business and expect it not to have an impact. That's your homerism talking.

Wisconsin's offense will be better!

We tell ourselves this every year (subbing LSU for Wisconsin), its very rarely the case. Your O-line is suspect, your star RB is injury prone and you dont have any experience at QB, none of that adds up to a better offense.

LSU Defense. ????

Sell out to stop the run and make your completely green QB throw on our superstar laden secondary. It's the same defensive strategy you'll use against us. Doesnt require a complex defense.

I think the UW defense will rival any of the SEC defenses you'll face this season

The UW defense will be good no doubt, but they wont even be close to Bama.

LSU loses to Arkansas because it's right after Alabama and our guys are drained emotionally and physically and it's their Super Bowl.

You're going to be surprised, I'd say. It would take a Herculean effort from Wisconsin to beat this LSU team and I mean that.

You lack respect for Leonard Fournette.

Hopefully your beloved Badgers are up for the challenge of stopping him.

He has a massive offensive line in front of him.

If he gets a crease he's gone.

Les Miles is a Wolverine. His TIGERS play to his lion heart. They fight.

Good luck. I have always liked your program. Your campus is pretty.

The tailgate is a great side matchup. LSU fans drink. However, Wisconsin fans are more than capable.

Drink Wisconsibly.

I'm sorry, but the team y'all faced last time has grown up, while Wisky's team has actually taken a loss with Melvin Gordon and now Aranda gone.

I expect Harris to play decent and Fournette and Guice to go crazy. Aranda will put your run game in place.
