That was actually a pretty huge win. I don't think I appreciated that enough. Florida is actually a damn good football team and besides some special teams errors we played them very strong. I feel like LSU, bama, and UF are easily the top 3 teams in the SEC. And I think LSU is the best. My confidence is growing more and more for this Saturday.

On paper, I really like how LSU and Bama matches up.

I really hope LSU can build a nice lead going into the fourth. Another game with last minute shenanigans will break the rant.

The biggest thing I took from it is how our ST can really keep em in the game. That game should have been put away in the first half.

Biggest fear is that we get a 14 point lead in the first quarter and Les goes conservative and tries to run the clock out.

Your fear is reality, unfortunately.

Special teams also won the game for us in the end.

I actually don't think he will do that in this game. He's seen what Bama has been able to do with their back to the wall. This team needs to go for the throat.

Let's hope that, similar to 2001 and 2003, the Tigers wind up playing the East champ twice because it appears the Gators are a virtual shoe-in. I'd look for a 2003 result when the Tigers under Saban played and won a rather conservative battle with UGA, only to smash them pretty good in the SECCG. The Tigers are just a tad better than the Gators and that's saying something. Gators should be in then top 8 in the country, IMHO.

Take away 2 plays, just two plays. A botched punt that gives them the ball inside the 15 I believe and a punt return and they score 14 points and we never even run a fake field goal. It then becomes a game that we won by 2 or 3 scores allowing 55 yards on the ground rushing and a defense that we put up over 400 yards on. So take away the fake field goal and the two botched plays by us and you have 28-14 pretty much.

I don't know if they have done some things to improve, but LSU is still tinkering with several things. Getting Mills back as a full time starter which takes out Jefferson, should improve the defense on the ridiculous amount of communication problems. Putting Jackson back as punt returner might end up becoming our X Factor. Getting Harris more involved in the game plan and the WRs improving will make us even more balanced.

LSU is a team that is improving bit by bit. After we beat Bama and Ole Miss , the committee would have to be a fool to not have us #1 regardless of what anybody else has done. Our wins as an undefeated team would be better than anybody else.

I'll take a 14-0 lead over Bama and live with the result. I will never overlook Pigs and Bears as they both play LSU tough and LSU generally overlooks them. Hell I'm not overlooking the gay guys either.

Exactly right, game should have NEVER been that close. 10 yrd TD drive due to botched punt, and PR for a TD.

Finebaum just said Florida's win over Ole Piss lost luster due to Ole Piss losing to Memphis.

Florida will most likely finish the regular season 10-2 at worst, so yeah that's a quality win.

Put it this way...If LSU were to lose to Bama and finish 10-1 and then UF were to beat Florida State and Bama in Atlanta, LSU should be in the playoffs without question. They would be owed it after the screw job in 2011.
