In the late 60's using wooden bats, Bill Bright hit one over Nicholson Drive. In '71 Mike Miley did the same with a wooden bat. Not many people went to the games then, so probably only the players and few fans saw them do it.

It is so hard to judge. I have seen some hit married student housing but in the late 80's LSU had a guy named Bowie and he hit one that went over the right field lights and was still going up it may have been the white ball going into the night sky but that ball looked like it was in orbit....never saw where it landed though.

I saw this one and agree it has to be as long a shot at Alex Box as any ever hit. However I'm certain it was hit during the NC season of 2000.

Mahtook had one that went over the new Scoreboard against Southern. That's level with the bottom of the lights.

If you want to throw in the New Box, Arkansas's center fielder/Sunday pitcher hit a ball about 60 feet over the scoreboard last year

I can't believe Brandon Larson isn't in this discussion. That kid defined Gorilla Ball.

Anytime the 5-6 Hanover bombs one, it's one of the best. Pound for pound, his bat is right up there with Barbier.

Belle's home run hit The Married Student Housing building where all the foreign couples lived.
I think I remember that it killed a 28 year old Pakistani and seriously injured his wife.
Either way, a lot of people pitched around Joey.

Saw Todd Walker hit one that cleared Nicholson and was found up against Tiger Stadium after game....if athletic admin building would have been more in right field than right center then it would have hit that in the air about 10 feet up the building.

There is a lot of BS in this thead. People are talking about 650+ foot homeruns in some cases.

Cresse and Larson hit some moon shots back in the day but that guy from Rice hit one above the light towers in left - Mark Quinn back in 95 regional, Berkman and Cruz hit some that regional as well

I think Larson hit one that bounced off of the Journalism Building, the Library and landed on top of the Memorial Tower.

Not referring to your Belle comment. It was not J Jones. It was Bret Boone

it was either mark kotsay for CSF or Mark Quinn. cant remember which one but chad cooley was in Left field and he never turned or moved. The ball was still had not reached its peak when it hit the Left field light tower.
