Remember 2014...after auburn people were predicting 1 sec win. Maybe.

Yeah, I member.

Where did I do that? We lost to MSU. That's a generally reliable SEC win for us. I don't think it's Chicken Littleism to predict that we could lose to Bama, Florida and either Tennessee or Ole Miss.

That's spotting us all our SEC home games (we have 3 home and 5 away thanks to Florida - and they'll probably win both affected games as a result - frick Florida).

Lmao. Seriously, lmao. I knew you were an idiot. I just didn't know what level.

The teams that were beat could not stop the run Aand we don't lost to UF at home.

re: Why Certain LSU Fans hate Coach O.Posted on 11/26/16 at 6:13 am to jdogg76
Here is why I don't want him as head coach:
3-21 as a HC.
1. No proven abilities to run the program AND MAKE IT BETTER! We know Miles would have had this team in the Sugar Bowl.
2. The teams he has beaten have HORRIFFIC DEFENSES! So nothing really good about the offense.
3. He is a snake in the grass and liar that trashed LSU openly during the Joe McNnight recruiting ordeal.
4. His best friend Kiffin is HATED on here as a known scum bag that BOTH of them led to USC Reggie Bush program killing housing deal.
5. He trashed the hell out of LSU while at Tennessee.

You want stats?
Here a-hole:
Here are the mighty teams we beat and how they rank on defense:

This is out of 128 teams.

Southern Miss total defense 19; rush defense 54

TAMU total defense 96; rush defense 83

Arkansas total defense 84; rush defense 102

Ole Miss total defense 101; rush defense 113

Missouri total defense 117; rush defense 118.

What the hell does this say about how difficult it is to call plays against these teams?
Texas Tech had a better rush defense than Missouri to put that into perspective.

Fire Alleva, Alexander and Orgeron.

Neal, beckwith, Riley, tre, Jamal, Jefferson and others are missing on defense. That alone was going to make us s bit more vulnerable.

I don't give one shits about graduated players or early NFL entries, All the good teams deal with this. I do care about over rated recruiting. And I'm not talking about stars or even good players, I'm talking about balancing the holes on the dept chart. Recruiting players that for one reason or another can't stay on the team, Mojo addiction, grades or other off field issues. This team got hit on the OL,DL line with what looks like all the above and injuries.
I am also concerned that the team may not be in great game time shape. That may be do to a big let down in the way the game unfolded, we'll see if the true very soon.

And yes both Miles had his best chance to win and this year's team should be better can exist. Are you really that dull? The coaching alone was suppose to be better and we returned serious talent and added one of the most talented classes ever.

if it's Miles' best chance to win/we need to fire miles to give Jimbo a chance to win a NC right away, than how could this team be better? wouldn't it have been this team is one year away from a title?

We returned our two best players in Guice and Key as well.

really? our best players weren't jalen mills and fournette? what about tre white?

When will the excuses stop.

it's not an excuse. why do people have to always frame everything as binary? do you think i'm a puppet master who can have O fired? because i'm not and either are you.

the point is that both things can't be true. it can't be miles' best shot and this year be better than that.

two years ago we were all thinking that miles HAD to win in 2016. that that was the closest we were going to be with talent and maturity for a few years. that time came and went. we expected this drop off.

you can be pissed about how the tigers played. but the idea that this team was more stacked than last year was always wrong.

Losing by 30 to Mississippi State and looking completely inept and undisciplined in every phase of the game is another.

totally agreed. inexcusable.

i'm only talking about the narrative that we were supposed to be better than last year this year.

i was disgusted saturday.

Last year Miles wins 10 games with the same team if we let him coach.

The teams we beat with Orgeron were piss poor on defense.

100% agree.

As for the two narratives, OP isn't getting it right.

As a long time Miles supporter, I agreed and posted here that if he didn't win the West in 2016 it was time to move on.

Not because it was his "best chance", or because we would be rebuilding after that, but because it would have been 5 years without going to Atlanta and if Miles couldn't get us back there with the 14 class of LF, Adams, Dupre etc then it was time for a change to see what new blood could do with the talent in BR.

Actually, if it was going to be a rebuild I would have wanted to keep Miles because he proved he could do that when things bottomed out after 07 by putting the best team in LSU history together in 2011 with four straight 10 win seasons from 2010-2013.

But we weren't rebuilding. In fact, we had a very good core group of players coming back with stacks of blue chip youngsters behind them as well. We had a Heisman candidate at RB, we didn't even really "lose" LF as Guice was already our feature back last year and led the SEC in rushing, a fifth year senior in his second year as starting QB, Chark, who was already our #1 WR, 4 returning OL (until MT left, not sure that would have happened under Miles), and a talented D under GOAT DC with Lacouture and Thompson back that weren't here in 2016.

The only real holes we had were Adams and Tre, but DBU has more than enough blue chippers to use back there to avoid a complete embarrassment like last weekend.

Experienced depth is an issue, just like it was in 2014 when we started a ton of freshmen. Yes we had a similar early loss to Auburn that year, but we also had a true freshman making his first start at QB and didnt have a junior Heisman candidate at RB that could have been our workhouse this year to rely on to keep the game competitive.

Auburn was also the defending SEC Champions and the favorite to win it again.

So to refute your faulty premise, there is no logical discrepancy in saying 2016 was Miles' make or break year and being fricking outraged when his replacement in 2017, who was billed as a continuity win now hire, smashes the fricking airboat into the levee in week 3 against a team Miles was 11-1 against in his tenure.

ETA: Who the frick hires Ed fricking Orgeron to REBUILD a program???

the above "miles has his best chance to win this year" can't co-exist with "this team should be better than last year".

it does if Les failed and his replacement is supposed to be better than Miles

your assumption seems to be that both variables have equal impact, which kind of is a problem considering Miles was fired b/c we failed last year.

that's why O was billed as a continuity hire who was going to maintain the good parts of the Miles era and fix the leaks. if we're in rebuilding mode, then O makes literally no sense as a choice for coach
