LINK

Should have been triple play:
Line drive caught- 1 out
Catcher threw to third- 2 outs because guy running from 3rd didn't tag
3rd baseman tags guy running from 2nd to 3rd- 3 outs

It should have been a triple play since they ruled the line drive was caught. The umpires completely botched the situation.

Definitely was a triple. Refs fricked up. The tag at third happened when Romero threw to Reid the first time.

Yeah, just saw the video and put it in op. That should have been called a triple play. Reid tagged the guy running from 2nd to 3rd. Reid made 2 outs. Kramer made the other out.

Actually, wouldn't the runner at third who ran home without tagging be out when Romero threw to third to tag out the runner coming from 2nd?

The runner on first never tagged to go to second, outs all over the field on that one.

Yes, Reid made one out by being on the base. Reid made another out by tagging the guy running from 2nd.

Yeah, I'm calling it a triple play, even if it wasn't officially one. The sequence:

Robertson makes the catch, batter is retired (1 out)
Robertson throws to Romero, who steps on home plate for what they think is a force out
Romero throws to Reid at 3rd, stepping on the base to retire the runner from 3rd who didn't tag up (2 outs)
Reid tags out the runner coming from 2nd (3 outs)

So outs two and three were near instantaneous, correct?

How did the umpires rule it before overturning? (What did they actually call, I missed it)
