Wanna know how good is Lindsey Scott just ask Michael Divinity. He destroyed divinity team in the state championship game. He wasn't named Mr football, Louisiana Gatorade football player of the year for nothing.

You're worried about subject/verb agreement?! The player's name this thread is about isn't even spelled correctly...

For those that missed the tape against the first team D before the bowl game I suggest you watch bf bashing this kid. He's got it when you can just see that he has that it factor, well he has it. Will he beat out Etling? Who knows but he will most certainly give them a hard decision to make at the end of it. You can tell he wants it and competes hard which is what I think helps him along with his accuracy and smarts. He gets the ball off very fast and to anyone that's open. He doesn't pick on WR and wait. He fit the ball in very tight Windows and NO one I mean no one could catch this guy when he took off. IMO he is THE reason we were so well prepared for Lamar J. Well and Aranda lol if he were 6'3" he would have been ranked tops nationally. Etling is only 6'1" so 2" taller which isn't much lol. IMO he's going to give Etling everything he's got so the guy that makes it out will be ready to win some ball games. Etling could get better but I can't see him getting that much better, LS has great potential and I'll leave it there. GT

How many times have people said the back up qb is the next big thing and when they finally get their chance, they don't live up to the unrealistic expectations and get shieted on by the same people that hyped them up.

I get the optimism, and I would love for him to turn out to be a great player. I just can't believe it without actually seeing it. You say he torched LSU's D all year, but why should we believe that when we never seen it. Maybe you're an insider, I don't know. I just want to see it for myself. It's a win win for us. At worst, we know we have a QB that can manage the game in Etling. If Scott comes in and beats him out, so be it.

Sure, he had some really good moments against the 1TD in bowl prep. He simulated Jackson, and did pretty good at it.

But also keep in mind, Aranda isn't going to tell his defense, during practice, to decapitate the scout team QB. He clearly sent them after LJ in live action, and Scott was a major part of the successful defensive game plan.

I'm not trying to bash Scott, nor crown him yet. We all know he's a damn good player that has a very high IQ. I'm just simply tethering my excitement until after spring and fall practices.

We have a roster full of great QB potential, and for once, an OC that is a proven QB developer. It's a nice delimma to be discussing.

Nobody is bashing Scott.. I honestly hope he gives the coaches a reason to start him

If he is the best QB on the roster, he should start. Period

Even if Etling wins the job in the Spring or Fall Camp, Lindsay should get a series every half like in the old days when Mickey Guidry got a couple of series each game.

Only way I know is to go back to the dates after the bowl game.. Pretty sure it was the week after or second week. Should be there somewhere. It's worth the little time it takes to look up. It's not a whole lot of film but he's dynamic in it. They actually rush him but it's no indication on how he would perform in real live SEC action. Etling will have a huge leg up BUT if they wow them why not get him in games at the end or in situations just to see how it goes? I would and I'm sure they will at some point. I would even think about putting him in for entire halfs for the cake games. Now that we have a staff that will actually dominate an opponent from kickoff we can actually get our backups key time needed to see how they do. Scott looked pretty damn good if you ask me and the guy that said he sat Key down wasn't joking he literally split keys pants, he's decisive and gets the ball out fast. When he takes off good luck, he's also very strong. He's a good one.

That's what most rational people are saying. We haven't seen him take a snap in college football yet.

Not to be nitpicking, but a quote from a "source", even one who is claimed to be credible, is the very definition of hearsay.

obligatory off season positive backup quarterback thread- referencing arm strength, work ethic, former players' judgments, a George Whitfield reference, and phrases as "fittina eat" and "he's ready"
