This.

Strategic default. You know what happened to housing prices in Cali. I bet he has a nice stash of cash and is going to retire young and healthy. Maybe he smarter than most give him credit for.

Cali is a non recourse state. Why pay all that money for a house you don't even want and then have to try and sell that in Cali's shitty housing market. Better to just stop making payments and walk away.

Would like to see how motivated most of you would be if given that amount of money at such a young age.

One never knows I guess. But I know my work ethic and I would have to say, no I would not have been any less motivated to have been given that much money and that chance to play at that level and been such a lazy arse and non-motivated. Plenty of ball players out there in all sports are getting that much money and in no means are pulling a JaMarcus. Sad how he will always be label with someone saying, "Don't be a JaMarcus".

this doesn't seem to be a problem for the vast majority of pro athletes

Rohan wasn't the number 1 draft pick and went on to win multiple awards as the nation's top QB in college. There is a difference between the two.

if you're making the statement based on race, there is no difference in the two. Rohan missed his opportunity to make in the NFL for much the same reason as JR, work ethic. The reason Rohan is loved is because he was a TIGER, an emotional leader who seemed to love playing for LSU just as much as the fans love pulling for LSU.

So you are saying JR didnt love being a Tiger? Thats bullshite. People were hating on JR almost since the day he stepped on campus wanting Flynn to get a chance.

I must have missed something at that point in time because I don't remember anyone hating on JR. I loved him from the time we were recruiting him until the time he left. I jump off his bandwagon when he let all that money go to his head and is now making an embarrassment of representing LSU.

I don't know if he loved it, or not. I do know that his relatives that used to post on here appeared to remind him frequently that all LSU fans were racist and hated him. I do, however, don't think he was ever the emotional leader that Rohan was...hence why I made the distinction.

As far as the Flynn argument, there were a small contingent of fans on here who banged the Flynn drum pretty loudly. And yes, there are some ignorant LSU fans who don't want a black QB, but the percentage is small, IMO. Every time I watched the team come down victory hill, the bulk of the fans were screaming "Jamarcus!".

I wanted Flynn to start in 06 after JR played with an injured hand and looked like shite for much of 05. It also didn't help when Saban got on the mic and called him out.

Also, how do you get "fired" by a person you are paying? How does the whole coach thing work? THe athlete pays them just like a trainer right?

So the guy quit, right?

Maybe it really would have been better for him if he had gone to Alabama. There are no racist Alabama fans.

Les Miles must be a motivation genius to keep this kid playing at LSU.

I suspect that Uncle Ray Ray was the motivator that kept him focused on the big prize. Once he got that contract he quit.

Pure BS. Flynn wasn't given a thought the year that JR and Randall split time as QB. The Flynn bandwagon didn't start until after the Miami Bowl game. There weren't many fans then demanding that Flynn start. Based on how the team performed in that game , they just didn't think Flynn was give an opportunity to show what he could do in the following season.

This pretty much solidifies JR as the biggest bust of all time.
