Funny 2009 gets left off here.. Hmm..

Last time LSU won it all they were a national seed.. Let's do that again.

Being a national seed isn't what is important, the number is meaningless...playing all of your postseason games at home is the desired outcome, and getting a National Seed is the guaranteed way to do that.

Just off the top of my head, the last 2 champs both hosted Super Regionals due to upsets in the paired regional; they weren't National Seeds but they ended up getting the benefits associated with a National Seed anyway.

So the path of a National Seed is highly correlated with Omaha success even if the actual National Seed itself isn't.

How about this...LSU has never advanced to a CWS from a super regional they did not host.

If you're LSU and have one of the biggest home field advantages you want to host. And it doesn't have a damn thing to do with what Fresno State did in 2008.

I know we lost to Stony Brook... what other team won a super regional at the Box?

LSU's never won a super regional series on the road and has only won one super regional game outside of the Box and that was in the state of Louisiana. So I'd say it's important for LSU to get a national seed.

I hate when people use worthless statistics. You win the CWS by winning games, not by being a national seed or not.

Not really a shocker to anyone that the 87% of non-national seeds breeds the champion more frequently. That's a lot of teams...

My way of thinking, we get a national seed great if not we can deal with it.
LSU is red hot now. This team plays with passion. I'm glad they were able to pull it together.

This is the one thing that pisses me off when it comes to the length of a baseball season. It's all about when you get hot. It completely diminishes the value and significance of a large portion of the regular season and is the reason why college football will always be the superior sport (i.e. every game counts).

you might have been caught in Ben Simmons hype at the time, but that extra inning win on Opening Night, that Fordham doubleheader, 2/3 over Vandy... all counted. we had to do SOMETHING before the #RallyPossum era started to have a chance to capitalize on getting that hot.

yeah i guess every game counts in college football... unless you win 9-6 in overtime...

Means nothing. Getting a national seed is about getting the easy path to Omaha which is exactly what we want.

What happens in Omaha after that is irrelevant of having a national seed
