A big deal was made about some comment about Jefferson needing to improve his footwork and the rushing game to improve which would make the OL better. Of course this is the chicken and the egg. I conversely submit that improvement in the OL would improve the running game and not force Jefferson to try to be Fred Astaire and have to dance around a non-existent pocket. Regardless, here is what those same posters did NOT want to mention.

Miles went on to predict that Jefferson will end up being one of LSU's all-time great quarterbacks.

AND

Miles said he likes his team and believes that the best players have been playing.

Soooo, you can't have it both ways....you can't selectively quote certain info. Thanks but no thanks on that.

Miles also said this would be his best Oline ever.

So much for opinions.

I am shocked. SHOCKED that Les critiqued JJs footwork and you found a way to blame the OL.

Hey, Tomm, how much did that big statute of JJ that you put up in your front yard cost?

Or was it an altar? you seem to be worshipping the kid.

And he also thought that last year the defense was good but they were just over-thinking. He stated many times that they played good at points and time in the games. Not to mention it took an injury to JL for the pick6 madness to finally come to an end.

Execution and play-calling improvement is what I got out of it - his reflections on the penalties that pushed us to 2nd-3rd & Long situations, thus forcing obvious pass plays.

I buy some of that, but still contend that this schitzo offensive scheme doesn't work. I'm pleased to hear that we may try to simplify things, not abandon the run game, and perhaps go back to an I-formation and 2-TE sets to protect the QB, run more play-action passing - anything but this "contorted Spread offense".

If in fact they were struggling at practice would you have preferred him to come out and say our O-line is the worst ive ever seen?

Yeah cause having his players feelings at heart and not wanting to decimate these young mens perceptions of themselves as a college coach is just wrong.

Brah, you are so far down on Jefferson's tip that you can only taste the bottom of his balls. Pick yourself up, it's embarrassing.

Coach speak...what do you expect him to say? JJ's terrible and he will never be an SEC QB?

Miles also said he liked his game plan for the Florida game. I wonder at what point did he start to dislike it...1st QT, Halftime, maybe when the final score was 13 - 3.

Once again, that is why I don't listen to coaches' shows. If you expect anything other than sharing the blame or rhetoric, you are mistaken. I did NOT quote him to back up any statement I ever made. I quoted him because posters were filtering out what he said to back up THEIR points.

As far as the best OL comment, I knew what that was when he said it. You say that when it is either true or it is false but you don't want to accentuate the weakness on your team. I have seen Spurrier do it with QB play, etc. Apparently, you don't listen to those useless halftime comments by coaches on ESPN or CBS games. Their comments have little to do with what actually happened on the field. They are saying the politically correct things.

Sorry, you don't understand football enough to know that a 63% completion rate and 7 TDs to only 3 INTs are good numbers. Might want to actually watch a game before you comment.

Yes, and almost every analyst has mentioned this. Is LSU a pro style or I formation or spread team? No one knows because they haven't established an "identity". And for a spread team, why is LSU signing FB after FB. Allen last year...the guy committed from GA this year...and trying to move TEs signed to FB also. Exactly why does a team that is trying to run the spread need to sign and move umteen guys to FB?

Those are good numbers in a vacuum. JJ is leading the worst offense in the SEC!! Don't cherry pick stats...they lie!

Guy, you don't know squat about football as proven by your opinions on this board. Buy Football for Dummies book and don't just look at the illustrations. Actually READ it...you need to.

Of course it was coach speak just like the statement about the OL was not that bad. But Jefferson is the best QB on the team right now. It isn't "coach speak" that Jefferson is playing...that is called backing words with the correct decision.

JJ's stats don't mean shite if he can't move the offense down the field. That's been proved in the last couple of games. Look at the Offensive team stats. Get the frick out of here with your begging and pleading for people to worship JJ. The kid is not ready yet. He's a soph. QB and it's painfully obvious.
