Did les miles say that Brandon Harris was the best quarterback in the country in an interview with heather dinich after the spring game? Did anyone else see this?

I didn't see it but I don't think Miles would say something as definitive as "he's the best QB in the country."

I could see him saying, "He's improving significantly, doing what he's supposed to be doing, etc" but I can't see him saying that Harris is the best QB in the country.

I couldn't see any coach doing that, just from a coaching standpoint. There are a bunch of very good QBs out there at other schools.

What's the point?

He either doesn't or does.

That's why I asked if anyone els saw it smart mouth. The quote was something like the qb room has really improved and that he thinks Brandon Harris is the best in the country someone just txt me this so I went check it out it's on our team page for Espn. If les has that much confidence in Brandon that means a lot. We may see a drastic improvement in the passing game. I'm pumped

The quote was "the qbs were throwing for higher percentages this spring than they were a year ago" he said " the qb room is better". Brandon Harris is more poised and comfortable." After the spring game miles said he thinks he is the best qb in the country. " I really do mean that" miles said. From heather dinich Espn

The point is that if he were to come out and say "he's the best QB in the country" then he's basically insinuating there is no more room for Harris to improve.

That's not a knock on him by any means but there are always things to improve on.

Harris is very good and very talented.

I think saying things along the lines of, "He's lighting it up way more than he did a year ago" and so forth, lights a fire under Harris. Continue to do what he's doing and improve on the little things.

I do think those are truthful statements, he's doing better than last year and so on. I believe that.

I know I would take it that way had I been in Harris' shoes. It would make me feel awesome but I would still know that there are things I could improve. Strive to be better than you currently are.

That's the point.

Worst thread ever. Started to ask a question, then in your next post you admit you read it and it was from espn.

In no way does being the best mean there's no room for improvement

I think there was a demonstrable confidence that Harris carried himself with Saturday that he may not have possessed at this time--or any for that matter--last year.

Wasn't JJ a Heisman candidate after spring practice his senior year?

No doubt. My son started off as the best kid in his soccer league, but improved over the season way more than any other player. One thing does not hamper or influence the other.

1) no

2) his progression was stunted by his missing the 1st half of the season

3) he was a lot better that year than most people realize or can admit

4) that championship game was atrocious and naturally makes most view the entire season with 20/20 hindsight

5) he was, is, and will always be better than Jarrett Lee

Miles probably said he's the best quarterback in Tiger Stadium.

Les probably threw down a few martinis after the game. And he might have had those words slip out, but only after #4...

What? No. Literally nobody thinks that if you're the best you can't improve, what are you talking about?

Means nothing tbh. Don't believe anything Les says, it's all fluff.

Then how come Jared Lee made an NFL roster and he didn't their rookie years?

Les meant Harris is the best QB in the country when it comes to pitch left, pitch right.
