The source said Miles' future at LSU is not tied to the outcome of the Tigers' game against Texas A&M on Saturday at Tiger Stadium. "It will have no bearing on what we do with him", the source said.

Good. If he had righted the ship and beat Ole Miss and A&M and won the bowl game I could see bringing him back for 2016, but after saturday's shitshow no way.

The $15 million dollar buyout clause in Miles' contract will not be a hindrance for TAF, the athletic program's powerful booster club that funds a lot of the athletic programs for LSU, according to the source. "The money is there", the source said.

What about the money for Jimbo's buyout? Do we have it or do we need to pull a UF and schedule a game againse FSU in the future? I'm sure Alleva could get $5million out of Jerry Jones or Arthur Blank to play them in a neutral site game.

quote:

Miles met privately with athletic department officials last week to discuss his future, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Potential termination options and strategies were discussed, including the possibility of Miles' retiring after the 2016 season.

There are only 2 options left at this point:
1. Miles announces he is retiring after bowl game.
2. He is fired by noon on monday nov 30th at the absolute latest.

I hope he's able to "retire". Seriously. He's gone down but I think still deserves some credit for the past 11 years. I hope his seeming stubbornness doesn't get in the way.

Honored? For running a program into the ground?

seriously? the program isn't "run into the ground." 2nd, yes you should honor the person who brought you an incredible 10 year run that basically only 1 other program bested and it just so happens they have a coach who is regarded as possibly the best ever at the college level. les has earned some respect.
