He just stated once he learns the offense, JJ/JL's advantage dissipates. It's all up to Mett - learn the O,run the O.

I concur

I'm not so naive that I can't see the presents of deniability in Miles statement. He's not stringing us along, but he's not showing his hand either.

It is JJ's to lose this year, Mett gets the keys to the offense next year. Mett will start for 2 years after JJ is gone.

In this mind, they've paid their dues and that alone entitles them to an advantage. Mett has 3 years to play and Miles is gonna make him wait his turn, unless something unforseen like injuries forces him to start Mett.

Signed by Jai Eugene. Oh wait.

Not just the playbook; think about the timing and chemistry developed with these players.

Misattribution "logic" if I ever saw it. So, you are crazy enough to suggest that Lee or JJ have "timing and chemistry" in place with Randle and Shepard and the other receivers? Do you have any ability to think rationally? Wow.

If nothing else, Miles is loyal to a fault.
Exactly. The players love and respect him and he is extremely loyal to them, almost to a fault. One of the best and worst traits of Miles.

I am hoping that this means that Miles is not going to just give Mett the keys to the castle...Miles wants the team to embrace Mett, not have him forced upon them. He wants the team to see the need to play him over the other two.
Good point DD.

I can always count on the morons in the fanbase to wring negative news out of every little soundbite or article.

How do you guys get out of bed in the morning? I mean shite, the world is such a negative place with all the destruction and despair. The sky is falling.

Miles has started underclassmen over seniors before in his coaching career.

There is something to be said for earning a job by being tested as opposed to being awarded a job without ever having been tested.

I wouldn't be surprised if Coach had a good understanding of the best way to integrate a new player into a successful team/system.

No one player, JJ or JL won any game by themselves.

negative. JJ probably won 2 games at most. Defense and special teams won 7 or 8 games.

The fricking point of this post was to let everyone know that mett is not starting the season opener. Which kinda blows but, hey eventually he will het his chance this season.

We must start J Jeff is there is any chance of an SEC title in our future. We don't have time to experiment with understudies.
