Whether you agree with Patrick's view on coaching contracts and how they conduct business, you've gotta respect that he came directly at Miles. Unlike that smarmy bitch Cowheard who would trash someone behind their back and then kiss their asses when they come on his show.

I think Dan's opinion is a bit overly simplistic but he has a point. Either way, I respect his integrity and that's why he's one of the best in the biz.

Very true...that's part of college football. Eventually someone comes along to kick your arse...

The frustrating part about the 2011 National Championship was that we beat Alabama earlier in the season....they sort of got a break from the system because they were "scarier" than Oklahoma State basically...

Do you realize how many coaches get fired before their contract ends?

Yep. Some of them like Houston Nutt get paid to do nothing. They just don't have to coach.

Bama wasn't "scarier" than Ok State, they were better. And they kicked LSU's arse in the championship game.

Again, I didn't hear any LSU fans complaining about the "system" in 2007 when the "system" put a two-loss Tiger team in the championship game.

2007 was different. LSU was the most accomplished 2-loss team that year. There is no question that the 2011 Okie St. team was more accomplished than Bama. Bama got in based on the "eye test"--another word for "scarier."

That Alabama turned out to be better than LSU that night is irrelevant to how they got there.

Bama was the best team available, period. Not sure why some people are still hung up on it. Following the NCG, there should be no question about it.

You obviously didn't come on here and see all the bitching about how WVU didn't deserve it because of their shite schedule, about how Georgia didn't deserve it because they didn't win their conference, etc. Pretty much everyone on here complained about the system.

the main issue I had with it is that it basically rendered the Nov game moot. The beauty of college football should be that November games are basically playoff games. If I were a voter, the tie-breaker on teams with identical records would be accomplishments like a conference championship.

Because we won the sec, we weren't sitting at home the last weekend. If we didn't win the sec,we weren't in. But we did and therefore were the 2nd ranked team because everyone else but Ohio state had 2 or more losses. Pretty fricking simple and clearly diff then what happened with bama.

Besides miles gave a good answer. He was showing professional courtesy to.his friend and a man he has great respect for. You take the phone call, and it was just to hear out what they are looking for, not necessarily just miles.

He should have asked about how fanbase feels losing to Alabama the way we did last two times when he started in about the running for gov crap.

Well, I think different people look at this in different ways. It was my opinion that the NCG would match up the to highest ranked BCS teams and human polls would be based on ranking teams in order of who is "best."

LSU won the SEC, which was decided in the regular season. The BCS is something totally different. I am probably in the minority when it comes to the fan base though.

Wow I come on here to read what happened on the show and instead find out that 1/2 of the fanbase here are a bunch of stupid %$^$@'s not that I didn't already know it.

People bitching about Miles getting a raise because of his disloyalty because of the Ark. crap! You people are sooo stupid. His raise had NOTHING to do with that!

Apparently 1/2 of you idiots think Alleva is as stupid and you are. The visit to Arkansas is not leverage for Miles. How is visiting a place that has ZERO chance of hiring away someone from you going to give Miles more leverage? It isn't!!!!

Alleva and Miles BOTH know that Les will retire at LSU if given the chance. He isn't going anywhere.

Yeah I hope those that are pissed at that go into an even deeper depression.

We lose 1 of 2 games to Alabama a couple of years ago, a team that has won the NC 3 of the last 4 years and yall think we should fire Les because of it.

All of yall bitching is nothing but a bunch of spoiled babies. Sad thing is when Les does retire and LSU can't compete against the best anymore yall will be to stupid to see the err of your way of thinking.

Can't fix stupid!

Miles raise was justified. Stupidity is thinking Miles or his agent doesn't use other jobs as leverage to force the issue though. It's how the game is played.
