Alabama has a Heisman running back but it was their passing game and strong special teams that won it. With Mich St's strong defense built to stop the run, Bama chose to go to the air multiple times and somewhat discard their running game. It was their defense, their passing and their special teams that really won it for Bama.

Miles too has a Heisman running-back, and Miles can build a strong special teams if he uses more starters like Saban does. Also LSU's got the talent to have a great passing game, the two great running backs Miles has can catch any pass and they have a really great receiver.

So what will it be next year Les, more ground and pound, or did you learn something valuable? That LSU is not that far off talent wise from Bama, it's also about how you win these games.

why would he get it now watching them dismantle MSU? He got a first hand look at it in 1/9 and four times since that time. Why would he magically get it watching another team on the receiving end from afar?

This will be bamas 6th national championship appearance under saban, what makes you think this one will make Miles change his ways?

Miles also doesn't have a qb as capable as Bama's. LSU's offensive and defensive ones are also not near as good as Bama's. Miles best shot against Bama is to continue to rub his lucky rabbit's foot or horseshoe and hope that Bama has 4-5 turnovers.

I think they know, it's just getting a qb developed to do it.

Miles would rather work on a few trick plays vs scheme an entire offensive game plan around a heisman caliber player as a decoy. Even if they did they wouldn't challenge the middle of the field expect on go route cause they don't trust Harris.

face it, bama has far superior QB play than LSU. far superior than Mett was too. and far superior Offensive coaching. Kiffen was stopped for much of the first half but he kept probing the MSU defense at different points until he found a way to move the ball. with an accurate passer the defense always has weak points and MSU was trying to play D like the SEC does. they did a credible job and it would have worked against LSU because of our poor passing attack.

another thing that Miles should have "got" was the perimeter blocking of bama's WR's. those sobs block expertly. it was the difference when bama attacked to the outside.

ALL great RB's have been stopped. I've seen games where Bo and Hershal couldn't gain shite. the D can sell out and stop any one facet of a game. it is up to the O to probe and find ways to move the ball.

its about being able to adapt/have a plan B. I don't care if your QB sucks. Its your job to find one that can run a simple screen or complete a 10 yard pass. Have a plan B. If a team stops your bread and butter, then have a back up plan. Put your offense in a position to win. Move that running back around, run out of shotgun, make the running back a threat to catch the ball beyond line of scrimmage, spread the defense out...something. Going down with the ship in the first half is getting old.

I thought it was their defense that gave up zero points that won the game.

miles isn't the only one who can't watch the game film and learn anything. dantonio was still talking about establishing the run game at halftime.

his 2 minute offense was the only time they moved the ball into scoring position.

you can't run against bama this year with the regular attack.

what about Sweeney? he has the horses to mount a challenge if he doesn't try to "establish" the running game up the middle on first down.

The fatal flaw in this supposition is that Les has an open mind.
Les probably was thinking why the hell risk interceptions, one rushing TD or a field goal would have won this game!

hair splitting. all three of bama's units were great last night.

if LSU had the D bama did, we MAY have won that game 3-0 last night. our offense execution isn't in the same universe as bama's.

bama didn't even try to run henry much. mich state was sold out on stopping him.

miles would've kept running fournette into the brick wall.
