This is a better comparison than Coker. Both Miles and Zook could recruit but both got out coached in many games, neither terrible neither great.

How many NC's and SEC championships did Zook win again? I forget.

what a poor analogy. If you don't like Miles, fine. But Zook never coached in an SEC Title game or a National Title game. Miles has done both.

I do believe he did have a 2 loss season just like lsu did, come on you know it was a fluke we ended up in the NC that year

Not really.

Everyone sat down and agreed we deserved to play for it.

It wasn't like we simply were next in line when those teams lost...they polevaulted us after multiple teams to get into the title game, because in spite of our two losses we had far and away the best list of achievements of anyone that year.

Were we lucky as hell to win that NC? Yes. Was it a fluke? No.

Oh no...

pleease no more disguised Miles arse kissing !

Miles is an average coach, a bad judge of coaching ability, a poor game manager, a nice guy and a very good recruiter.

I love how all of a sudden the '07 championship doesn't mean shite just so the Miles bashers can have validation.

Who else deserved to be in there besides LSU? Now STFU.

Not all two loss seasons are equal in a system that determines a champion relatively. This 2007 was a fluke but 2003 (a co-champion year) did it the "right way" meme is getting tired.

Zook also went 8-5,8-5 and 7-4. The OP is a moron.

I was referring to the overall process that required the foreseeable but still long as hell chance of both West Virginia and OU to lose to get us in there.

Exactly. Georgia was 13-1 in 2002 and Auburn was 13-0 in 2004. LSU lost in '03 to an 8-5 Florida team and needed a series of losses by Notre Dame and Hawaii on the final day of regular season play. Yet the Sabanistas don't see how there was any "luck" in that one.

That means jack shite. In 2003 and 2007, when it came down to crunch time LSU did what it had to do and the other teams didn't.

I agree. I am just pointing out to those who want to diminish the '07 title that their boyfriend needed some help in '03,too.

I think for that year, everyone looked at the losses. Having two triple OT losses were more forgiveable then losing to Stanford or being blown out by Tennessee for example.

That certainly helped.

But ultimately what got us in was WTFPWNING VaTech at the start of the year. It was an absolute thrashing at a level that made it inconceivable to put them in the title game ahead of us with the same record and they were easily our main competition for the spot.
