He really does not run upright...Eric Dickerson ran upright. What Fournette does NOT have is loose hips and that makes him look stiff. Bo Jackson and Hershel Walker were the same way, but they ran HARD and they had coaches that turned them loose, especially Walker as a freshman.

Wait I didn't know LF played DB. If this isn't the dumbest shite I have maybe ever heard on here in a good while. Wow just wow!

Fournette looks better every game and that's going to be huge for our team.

Once he gets some more experience and improves his vision, we are going to be a scary offense

and he looks different than all the other backs...when he hits the hole hard it is at another speed than all the other backs. He is coming along, but he is def going to be a great one...forget the hype...he is for real.

That is going to be one of the fun things about this season. Watching LF get more comfortable every game. He will be a beast by mid season.

except for the 24 yard run for a TD (which was nice), LF had 9 rushes for 28 yards against a crappy opponent. Yes, I know you can't discount the long run, but you have to pay attention to the larger sample size of the rest of his carries.

He's good, but nothing special at this point. With his performance so far, if he was a 3* recruit, he wouldn't be getting any special attention from the Rant.

Patience, my friend. We see flashes of brilliance now but that will become commonplace by midseason. He just needs to get his comfort level down.

The Rant seems to think Darrell Williams is better. Because he gets to hawk TDs on the goal line.

Actually they probably won't. The expectations were set waaaayyy too high for LF. He will be a good back for LSU and one day may end up being all-SEC, but he'll never be the AP type of back people were saying he'd be. He's just not that quick, elusive or good.

Agree for the most part.

LF looks good, but, as I've said before, nothing special so far. I know that the Ranters who had extreme predictions want to be vindicated, so they're having trouble acknowledging that LF looks just ok, but not mind-blowing.

And yes, I know he's still only 3 games into his career and he can grow and improve, but we've played three shitty defenses and LF should've already shown a lot more if he truly was the "once in a generation" type of talent.

HEY LES! Move LF to tight end now since that is the position that he has potential in the NFL!

Can't compare him to Bo Jackson!

This will make way for Williams and Hilliard to showcase their talent this year.

Actually, I thought his point was right on. Fournette doesn't have the "loose hips" that we saw earlier this year from Wisconsin's Gordon. And yes, Hershal and Bo were similar to Fournette. The poster with the second quote went on to say that Hershal and Bo ran hard. If he was implying that Fournette doesn't, then I disagree.

Agree, and he will get this with time. He's already shown what he can do from a full gallop once he shakes free.

Yeah but he is 6'1" 230 lbs as a true freshman that runs a 4.4 and the #1 player coming out..

The hype is justified

I think he needs to get more work...they are giving Magee too many carries right now.. He looks slow and fat on TV

LF is the quickest to LOS and it's not even close

That's why Hill was our starter over the other backs.. he got to the hole quicker/faster than Hillard/Magee..

Hill was a stud!

He needs to learn that he is not bigger and faster than the opponent like he was in high school and find the hole rather than try to run over someone. Once this happens, he will live up to the hype.

I agree.
LF hasn't been overwhelming so far.

This is a bad post. Sorry, first of all...you cant cherry pick stats. Second of all, forget the stats...actually watch the guy play. I had it on dvr and was watching it back..lsu was kinda grinding it down the field. I watched one of the rbs flash throuh the line, but I wasnt paying attention to who was in the game presnap...but the speed and force the back hit the hole with made me rewind it. I didnt realize it was LF till i rewound the play. Forget fricking stars..what the hell do they mean? Anything? What im saying is this..i had to rewind the game to see who this rb was...because after all the plays i had just watched...this player stood out among the other lsu backs...different speed/force. He flashes...among other backs like Hilliard/Williams..etc(4 star guys right?..again..not that those stars mean anything). His td run...he hit the los so fast he was on top of the LB so quickly the lb didnt realize he already had to change his angle upfield. On at least 5 of his 12 touches he stood out amongst his peers. The fact that as a freshman, LSU has repeatedly used him as a decoy should tell you something. Hell, on Williams td run he had LF in the backfield behind him sprinting left..thats a hell of a guy to have behind you drawing attention from the D. Some of Fournettes plays you can see the D ganging up on the run by the numberof guys in the frame when he is tackled. Statd dont tell the whole story...thid kid has garnered a lot of attention, not just from media/fans...but from opposing defenses. Cam has to figure a way to keep defenses more honest when he is in the game...putting Hilliard/Wiliams at FB as an inside run threat is a good start.
