LF is truly amazing but to say Cecil wasn't is simply not true.

Except we have no idea if it's true. Saying a rb with 3 tds was truly amazing is just being biased. His 8.1 ypc is good but there have been rbs to achieve that over an enitre season. Like I've said already,he ran against 3 scrubs and Auburn and was running behind some of the best olinemen and fbs to ever put on a lsu jersey

Your just making stuff up now. The State and Auburn defenses he did it against were better than the State and Auburn d's LF just ran against. Nobody's saying LF won't be the greatest back ever to play at LSU when he's done but don't re-write history.

Cecil the Diesel's legend is legit, and if anything, he had a more impressive beginning.

Let's not act like the sec in 1997 was as deep or as talented as today's sec.
Also Cecil has a more impressive beginning? Yeah Leonard Fournette only led the sec in all purpose yards as a true freshman but yeah I can see how you would think a 72 carries 3 tds beginning is more impressive than that.

and all Collins did was come in, produce 3 straight games similar to what Fournette did yesterday,

bullshite. Collins never scored 3 tds in a single game. His enitre 4 game stretch he had 3 total rushing tds.

No. The 1997 Miss St team was shite on defense. They gave up 48 to UGA,28 to Central Florida,27 to Kentucky. They finished the season 7-4.
The auburn defense in 97 was better than yesterday's defense which is why I said 3 scrubs and Auburn.

Went to LSU in the 90s. Graduated in the 90s.

CC was not better than LF. LF's YPC were better yesterday then Cecils's 8.9.

I experienced that history too. After LF we will be saying Cecil who?

No one should be comparing Collins to LF. CC's body of work was too small and his time here was overshadowed by his brushes with the law.

LF is in a class by himself.

Agree to disagree. Not sure by end of season this State team will be much better. Both guys have/had the "it" factor. That's for sure. I'm hoping and believing LF will break every rushing record. Just want to let him actually do it before handing him "best ever" title. I believe CC would have done it. I believe LF will do it. In the present, both are just beliefs right now.

Different type runners, but Leonard will be the most dynamic LSU RB since Dalton over the course of a couple of seasons.

Big ifs

Cecil--If he had a brain and was as dedicated as Leonard, I'm thinking he'd be equal to or maybe a little better than LF. Yes, he was that good.

Jeremy Hill--Seems like he hardly played. Huge talent and I would have liked to see more of him.

He is a piece of trash but let's be real, that has nothing to do with his athletic ability

This is completely inaccurate, character is huge, it is the package that hold the athletic ability. Look at Collins, Ryan Perriloux and Mathieu's careers at LSU, cut short because of poor character.

If Mathieu didn't have Patrick Peterson to rescue him, he would have ended up on the scrap heap.

CC was a waste of talent, it was a mirage, just a good example of a bad example.

I agree that Collins had potential, but LF is on a different level. Cecil was not as put together as LF. LF is the polished version

Cecil played a whopping four games for us almost twenty years ago. Let it go. Fournette is a better player and person

He is already the best freshman RB lsu has ever had. He already has the best start to a season of any lsu rb ever. He already is ranked 14th in career rushing tds and he is 1 season and 2 games into his career. At this point LF and Cecil Collins shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence. In 1 game LF has matched Cecil Collins' career td numbers.
