Will he mess around and get # 7 retired and end the streak of handing the number down?

Personally, I'm against retiring numbers. Put his name and number on the rafters and pass the number on to future players.

I don't think he would want that to happen. He has to much class.

I would not retire any number, ever. Use it for a recruited great new player as a pride thing.

If they retire it'll be well after his NFL career is over. Like 25+ years from now.

I hope not. 7 holds some mystique and that is a good tradition to have.

It can't be retired at this point. Peterson and Matheiu both earned similar honors and to retire it for Fournette would be unfair to those guys.

Absolutely do not retire college numbers

OU didn't retire Peterson's #28

I really dislike the idea of retiring numbers. #7 is certified badass at LSU now

Moses is the next great to wear it hopefully

Not big on retiring numbers, but I thought you had to graduate to have it retired.

No. Its a great recruiting tool. I'm sure some kids dream of wearing that # for LSU. Dylan Moses will want it and he'll get it

Should never happen. No player is above the team in college and I bet he would say the same thing. However, if he keeps this pace up he will be remembered by the smashing of records. Just hope he doesn't wear out in the process. I think his carries should only exceed 20 in big games.

I think ya'll are overlooking the fact that he is a lock for 18 next year.
