That being said, I don't think we will have as much success running the ball with Jarrett Lee as with JJ because of the threat of the option. The ends can crash down with JL in the game. With JJ in the game, the defense has to be a little more honest.
There is no threat with the option. Try again

This thread is really bothersome if true. We have a stubborn arse coach. Not only is it unfair to lee to do shite like this, it is also unfair to the rest of this lsu football team because their head coach isn't giving them the best chance to win football games.

Mike scarbourough said this on radio last week. GC wants JL. LM wants JJ.

If this is true then Miles is going to lose the locker room.

Some of the posts here that vilify the coaching staff for not starting Lee, and at the same time make Lee a 'hero' for not transferring and 'sticking' with LSU are both amnestic and ludicrous!! These are probably the same short-sighted people who wanted the very same Lee castrated two years ago for his woeful performances game in and game out. I personally think Miles is sticking with Jefferson WAY too long. But something tells me that he still has serious concerns about Lee, and hasn't forgotten about all the pick-sixes we dealt with two years ago. Somehow, with all the raw talent and success LSU has had over the past decade, we keep whiffing on QBs, and haven't recruited a top tier, smart athlete for this position.

I too believe that Miles is more the blame than GC. I believe for some unknown reason he really believes that JJ will get it together this season. I think that JL would open up the running game more, considering the possible threat of us actually having a passing game.

I think I will be even more pissed if change with our QB position only comes AFTER we lose a game. JJ is getting undeserved heat for bad play, in the since that if the coaching tells him to play, who is he to refuse. You never want to willingly step aside as a competitor. I also think that JJ believes that he is playing good enough to win and doing what the coaching staff is asking of him.

No matter what the QB situation is, and the the offensive problems are, it's ultimately CLM's fault. If there was someone under my watch that was screwing up, they'd be moved out. JL should be given more of an opportunity, even if he is inside of our own 20. He's a lot older and I'm sure has a little more poise than he did as a 3rd string Freshman QB against the SEC. I'm sick of watching a guy throw 40% for 75 yards

He was a freshman that was thrust into play before he was ready or prepared, He also moved the ball better as a freshman than jj is now. Miles cant really use this argument anymore

After last Saturday how much confidence can JJ have left? We might have no other choice than to let JL play at this point.

Wait a minute Tigersomething....the option???? have you seen JJ run the option. Our option play is no threat to any team for crying out loud.

I believe that if we do lose (especially to a lesser team) you will almost definitely not see Lee out there. Image losing to say Tennessee or Mcnesse(God forbid) and then we start Lee and win out every game, convincingly, yet miss the NC game because there are 3-4 undefeateds in front of us. The back lash would just be outrageous!!!!

No matter who is doing what, and who says what, it is clear that our offensive staff is not on the same page. It is so bad that anyone can see it clearly now. This kind of thing scares me, because it can blow up and destroy the season if it isn't dealt with, one way or the other. If we start losing, the blame game will get ugly, not to mention the stadium. Can you imagine what TS will be like if we drop a couple and JJ plays poorly against Bama? It will be apocalypse bad, and on display for the entire nation. Richt is getting all the hot seat play right now, but if we start losing, Miles vs the LSU fanbase will be front and center on every sports show in America. I am losing hope fast, but I still do hope he wises up, because if he doesn't, it will make for a lot of bad national PR for LSU.

I sit across the field, behind the visitors bench. I saw Lee get tapped, grab his helmet and start warming up, as did several of the people around me. We were shocked when JJ went back out. That being said--I have no idea what he was told when he was tapped on the shoulder. I can only surmise that he interpreted the converstion to indicate that he would play.

Also--Miles reminds me of Jim Haslett right now.
JJ is Miles Aaron Brooks--just my opinion.
Is JL better than JJ--I have no idea, I do think it is time to give him a chance--a meaningful chance. Either he will step up and our offense will improve, or Miles will prove his stubborness is actually based on the fact that he has more knowledge about their abilities than the rest of us.

Just my $0.02 worth (probably ain't worth that much)

Lee is capt pic6. I'd be nervous if I were MIles to put him in too. That said, I'd have given hime 10 throws in his last 2 games to see if he's ready
