Listening to T-Bob and Jordy talking about the depth along the front 7. And it's sickening that only 1 player is starting from the 14 or 15 class along the front 7.

It’s also on our DL coach and recruiting coordinator.

O did try and fix the problem with the 16 class. But the damage from previous classes is definitely noticeable.

We also have 3 from classes prior to 14 and another one from either or 14 or 15 instead of just the 1 previously mentioned. Injuries and suspensions are hurting the depth there more than experience or numbers. We started three fifth year seniors, a senior, a junior, and two sophomores against State.

ETA: I'm sure that was just an oversight.

No you're right there are still upperclassmen playing and contributing. But let's be honest the classes have got to add continued depth and development along "BOTH" lines. And they've failed to do so.

"BOTH" lines, yes. Depth takes a hit when you lose 5 offensive linemen in your first offseason.

The OL while in a similar situation, has one constant with it and that's Grimes. I blame all issues regarding the OLine with him.

Grimes has this belief that he can recruit raw athletic tackles and mold them into good football players which is great in theory. The problem is that it has been proven that he can't. NONE of his raw project tackles have worked out.

The guy needs to go!

Only 1 of those 5 was any good and it's not CEO's fault that Maea couldn't make the grades.

Our redshirt seniors, seniors, and juniors are all average at best minus guice, key, brumfield, and clapp.

Frank Wilson, Brick Haley and John Chavis were responsible for the LB's and DL for the 14 & 15 classes.

O has us headed in the right direction with DL/LB recruiting. OL is a whole other story, so ready for Grimes to go. Don't understand why O kept him. Never made sense to me.

the amount of off field issues amongst the DLine guys from 13 and 14 is damn near stunning.

Herron
Quay Bain
Travonte
Trey Lay
Sione Teuhema

4 guys you had to boot, and another who has been in the doghouse for all 5 years it seems.

Which tells me Grimes is lazy and doesn't want to hustle/recruit the high level tackles and just go after low hanging fruit at a need position thinking he's some OL coaching guru, which he's not.

If you are a great position coach, then you can recruit projects. If you're not, then you need to get as sure things as possible.

Grimes is terrible.

There's something to be said about "intangibles" in recruiting instead of just size.
